Summer
No games come out in the summer, I think someone must have passed a law - sort of. No games are released in the summer because, back in the day ( when the business was invented ), the exclusive demographic for them, kids, were all sent away to holiday jail for the duration. The only kids who didn’t go away were, of course, members of familys too poor to send them, & therefore too impoverished to buy any games - non-people, from a business perspective. There’s not much of profit in selling to groups of people who don’t buy things, so everyone took the summer off.
Except, of course, the main demographic for games isn’t kids anymore, is it? No, of course it isn’t - it’s 20-30 year old adults, everyone knows that, right?
Everyone except the videogame industry.
