Big Changes at Video Game Geek

Damned if I know what’s going on here - I had to sign in through a comment on one of my own posts ( of course, they’re almost all my own posts ). There’s been no word from the site admin, even after I sent him an email congratulating him on the quality of the new visuals, so maybe VGG has been sold ( ! ) , but I’ll assume it’s OK for me to continue to post. Because I can post.

So anyways, nice new look for the site, I don’t know much about webmastering but I would have to assume this took some work ( unless of course it’s a new WordPress template, in which case nice job WordPress ). Feast your eyes True Believers ( sorry Mr Lee.. ), I’m sure this is just the beginning of the total domination of the gaming world by VGG - can message boards be far away? I can hardly wait to begin deleting racist & politically unsound posts. Awesome.

I finished Halo 3 of course ( it’s not long ), & like a lot of reviewers I had mixed feelings. The game really is more or less a better version of the first game, & that’s the problem, it’s still Halo - there really aren’t any surprises. I think most aspects of the game are superb : graphics, AI, level design ( although there are areas where the regrettable one-hit-kill is abundant - that sucks ) presentation & extras like the multi-player/online modes. The plot resolves itself nicely too & sets up for a sequel ( of sorts ), the only real issue I have is with some sub-par & tedious voice acting which because of it’s nature is unskipable , & the annoying slowdown effect which accompanies it - this somewhat hurts replay. This game is not a 10, it’s not a perfect game ( or even a perfect Halo game ), but it is very, very good - 9.5.

And of course, no post is complete without a discussion of my Animal Crossing progress. This game is such an odd cross between the most basic infants play-room experience & my own soul crushing adventures in the real world ( I arrived in my town owing 20 thousand dollars - that’s just about right… ), that it’s kind of a surreal experience. The fact that Animal Crossing plays out in real time makes the tiny & silly world of animal ingrates seem not unlike a real world you’re visiting, almost like the DS is some kind of magic wardrobe, or perhaps magic toilet. I almost paid off my Delphi ( that’s the name of my fake town ) mortgage today, but Tom Nook’s store closed before I could sell him the goods I needed for the money - damn it. Damn you Tom Nook, you furred retard. Still, I kind of enjoy this game - the way the DS stylus breaks the 4th wall in gaming is pretty revolutionary, & the way I waste my time playing this game is pretty gratifying.

Happy Marios - I’ve used this Sig before, & in case it’s not obvious, “Marios” are what non-gamer types ( that’s you, Jordan ) somewhat derisively call videogames.

Happy Marios.
