The statement below is false.
The statement above is correct.
Systems ready The 12 systems tested last week are now done, they are moved to “Tested and complete”! They still have some things that will be improved later, either before or after the site is released, but should have no serious problems.
Focus on Blogs, GeekMail and Tags The focus this week is on Blogs, GeekMail and Tags. Please test all aspects of these this week. GeekMail has a cache issue that looks like a bug, the unread count does not always update as it should. This is caused by an inconsistency with the caching on the live site. Please do not report it, it is known and will work on release when the old site no longer interferes.
Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it. Can't add an item to a Geeklist. Fixed. Search results should include reason it is shown if alternative name is used. Added to both quick search and full search. Missing 'comment' link on geeklist items. Fixed. Don't close and uncheck current geekmail. Done. Editing a blog post: cancel button does nothing. Fixed. Deleted someone's entry from my geeklist. They didn't get notification that I deleted it either through the system or through geekmail. Added this new feature. Not deleting messages from outbox. Fixed. Unable to create a geeklist. Fixed. Geeklist: Minimum message size too small for bidding. Fixed. "Add geeklink" scrolldown menu disappears as soon as I move my mouse out. Fixed. Links from item page to GL doesn't point to the right page. Fixed. The pop-up suggestion box for finding an item to Geeklist has a very big font and shows little info. Fixed. Geeklist header time created not visible (just some small artifacts/noise) if it has been edited. Fixed. Geeklist item control buttons overlap post time data. Fixed. Sub-header is shown on geeklists. Fixed. Images cropped in geeklists. Fixed. Create a Geeklist summary (Table of Contents action). Now in the gear.
Thanks for your help!

Changing Domains If you want to change domains you click on the images on the footer of the page, the URL won’t change but until you do something to change again you should still be on the new domain.
New Global Forums Although there are three “domains” to the geek, in the end it is only one big site, instead of a simple network of sites. In face of that there has been a change to the organization of the forums. The old GeekDo News got some new friends, and they are now visible on the Forum list under “Global Forums”. The new forums are: - How to Geek; - Geek Bugs; - Geek Suggestions; - Complaints Department; - RSP; - Spam; - Testing;
When we launch (but not before as this change would affect the live site as well) threads that are now on the equivalent domain forums (for Geek Bugs it would BGG Bugs, RPGG Bugs, etc) will be moved to the Global Forum. Also, a new forum, again only on launch, will be added to each domain called “Domain Discussion”. This forum will be a catch-all type to encompass domain specific bugs, suggestions and how-tos. These will become rarer as time pass, so it should be easy to manage only one. The Off-Topic forums (Arcade, Chit Chat and Tavern) will be kept separated and will be moved from the Everything Else header to the DOMAIN Related header. We have not decided on the Creative Fodder yet.
Empty pages Some pages, especially things that are sorted by Hot might appear empty the first time you check. If you recheck it after about 5 mins it should show correctly. This is because you might hit a cache that is not created yet. And after the first hit it is created.
Other known issues, new are underlined
Default front page will be overhauled.
Green question mark images are placeholders.
Subscription to blog posts does not reset.
All customization settings will be reset when the site is released.
The customization has changed completely. You can click on customization on the bottom of the navigation panel and change what block of information to show, and edit the details of each one.
Checking your geekmail or a subscription might not correctly mark it as read, so there might be a difference between the beta and the live site.
Image caches have not been regenerated. This means that for example the hotness images look very odd.
If you change the page or filter on the hotness and hit the back button it opens the hotness on the center bucket.
The “Next Unread Item” might hit an error page. That is because some of the subscription types have not been converted yet, so if you hit one of those it won’t work.
Most of your old quickbar links should be converted, although there is a bug where the pages are shifted 1 to the right (so your first page is now page 2). They are not synced with the live site and will be converted again before release.

Re-relese12 systems have been released for testing before, were reported to have bugs, and have now been bugfixed. They will get improvements and touchups before release along with everything else, but the aim is that they after testing shall be "Tested and complete" if nothing is reported. This hopefully means that they fully work and have no serious issues. Please test all of these, even just a quick check on a single page of each helps a lot: Forums GeekAccount Customization (please test all customization pages, not only front page and game pages) GeekMod GeekItem Creation Image upload GeekItem Admin Queue GeekItem Admin Tools (these two can only be tested by admins ) GeekGold Wiki Image Page Video Page Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it.Editing geeklist item removes comments. Fixed, big thanks to Grimwold for reporting this and sorry you got bitten by this nasty bug. Add subdomain filter to Full Image Browse and other views. Done. Trade links in GeekMail aren't links. Fixed. Error when deleting multiple geekmail. Fixed. In Geekmail main page, "All" no longer includes "Outbox". Fixed. Game Forums not searchable. Added as a separate option. Read more link not working for blogs. Fixed. Cannot reply on blogs. Fixed. Blog posts do not show all content. Fixed. Blogs and blog posts should not require login. Fixed. Quick bar pages no longer clickable. Fixed. Thanks for your help! Old site speedups End part of the Gathering of Friends and prioritized work on the old site used parts of the work time this week. The old site has received a number of speedups that will carry over to the new site, both to improve the pageload time and to reduce the number of servers needed.
Finishing the released systems Next week we should be able to re-release the released and bugfixed systems and then start for real with new systems, and roll them out much faster. This means it will soon be time to open up for more beta testers too!
Customizations Customizations have been streamlined a bit to improve caching. Blogs are one per block or all, it is no longer possible to combine some. Naming has been fixed on game page customizations. All this means the option for each user to be able to rename a block is no longer critical, so it has been removed to improve efficiency.
Fan An existing feature that needs to be checked is Fan. It is not overly complicated, but has not been listed for testing before. Test that becoming a Fan of various types of items works.
Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it. Check Contests. Done, working. Missing full view for game forums. Added. Browse Video broken. Fixed. Add subdomain filter to Full Image Browse view. Done. Error on profile pages. Fixed. Extra slash in search results. Fixed. Customization filter option change collapses bucket. Fixed, now stays open. Add "propose as representative image" function to each image page. Done. Hide post layout problems. Fixed. Add missing Gear More links. Done. Width difference between image and comments. Fixed, now comments use full width. Remove clickable link to who thumbed on overview listings. Done. Add aggregate Play-By-Forum on RPGG. Done. RSS feeds have strange characters. Fixes. Make search box smaller. Done. Remove More/Less Information Icon from Podcast Episode Listing Page. Done. Various issues with Search Results. Fixed. Tags Cloud numbers looks like pager. Fixed. Add 2012 platforms to the default homepage platform hotlist on VGG. Done on both old and new.

Gathering This is the week of the Gathering of Friends, which means less than normal has been done.
Bugs The new bugs last week with missing pager for images and errors with files are fixed, as are some other things. Geeklists are a bit weirder than normal, with everything collapsed by default. They will be worked on.
All filter Many listings of data in profile and in browse were reworked to by default filter by "All", instead of one of several available subsets. This means that a user clicking on Images somewhere will get all images, instead of for example only game images by default. The filter can then be used to select a subset, or the data can be reordered. Some views were split or joined to make them better grouped. Some views were found that will never contain any items, those views were removed.
Examples: A new user can still access all data even without understanding the filters. Browsing a persons contributions will more likely show you what you are interested in immediately, and then you can select to show part of it.
Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it. Text color dialog not appearing in chrome (or firefox). Fixed. Customize RPGG Frontpage button clipped in Chrome. Fixed. Incorrect heading for games forum on game page. Fixed. Width difference between image and comments on image pages. Fixed. Add aggregate Play-By-Forum on RPGG. Added.

Delays Much work on various parts of the old (current) site, hardware, things that will carry over from the old site to the new and a bit of Easter holiday all contributed to more delays. I'm sorry for the lack of update last week, we did not make a new release but a note about that would have been posted in an ideal world.
Bugfixes We are nearly done with bugfixing for all the systems listed as "Released, need bugfix". All of them have something complicated we are working to solve, or some important part that is still not done and is needed to be able to test that fully (like Collection is undergoing overhaul and before that is done we cannot consider game pages to be fully done). When that is complete we hope to start working through the rest of the systems fairly quickly, as so much of the basic systems have been completed. It will also be easier to focus on a couple of systems at a time.
Bugs There are currently some issues for pages access through the browse menu, like missing pager for images and errors with files.
More delay Tomorrow parts of the dev team leaves for the gathering of friends, so there will be some more time still before major updates are done.
Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it. Customize RPGG Frontpage button clipped in Chrome. Fixed. Can't create a Geeklist. Fixed. Missing representative image functionality. Added. Error accessing user profile. Fixed. Show item expanded when adding it in customization. Fixed. Show all game subforums in games customization selection list. Fixed. "Pending" tags not present. Fixed. Incorrect release date on game version. Fixed. Game versions seem to be listed in random order. Fixed.

Some more delays as work on the old site was needed again. A lot of work with server hardware and deployment, these updates should now hopefully happen regularly every Thursday. There is now a separate CSS and JavaScript server geekdo-static.com. When layout is changed it should no longer be a need to clear caches or refresh to get the updated look. Work on some major systems have started, but the changes from last week are mainly lots of bugfixes.
GeekItem creation and GeekMod were tested last week, and they are almost complete. They are awaiting overhaul of some system-wide parts, like images only showing up as small when they should be quite a bit larger. This is connected with almost all smaller images having incorrect proportions, as they are changed from the old site to the new.
Layout changes should now be saved. The bug seems to have affected users who previously had not changed any account settings. So now all should be able to access the wide layout!
Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it. Hot 10 lets me list 11 items (maybe more?). Renamed, these are now unlimited. Many issues with registration, account information etc are fixed, especially for special characters. Thanks russ! Hitting cancel on profile edit doesn't seem to do anything. Fixed. When inserting a Geek item link into a comment, it should wrap any selected text. Fixed. Geekitem boxes overlap slightly with the ad banner. Fixed. Layout changes are not reflected by the check/select boxes in interface. Fixed. Asked to select gg reward for articles (but clicked already). This and related bugs fixed. New user avatar blocks seem to be off. Fixed. Files linking to different game. Fixed. Wiki: missing Wiki Formatting link when editing wiki page. Fixed. Wiki: table border="0" not working. Fixed. Border around Announcements is both round and square. Fixed for several blocks. Wiki page shows up in search, but is blank when I click through. Fixed. Empty window on footer click, main page. Fixed. Avatar mouseover is off-center. Fixed. Going to page 2 of comments breaks hover effects. Fixed. Blogger pages do not exist. Fixed. Subscription page text overlapping. Fixed. First click on "gear" icon in Edit Layout overlay brings pop-up in wrong place. Fixed. Game description appears on beta site, but not on live. Fixed. Keep displaying expanded sub-header after filter change. Fixed. After submitting an edited post, the popup doesn't go away. Fixed.
Thanks for your help!

Many things related to the current site had to be worked on this week and we are working on bigger new systems (like plays) that will come in a week or two. This means the bugfixes and new features in this release are fewer than usual. However, the number of bugs for basic and released systems are steadily being reduced, and when all those are fixed we will be able to speed up the development of new features.
Many reports regarding systems that are not done, or not ready, have been scheduled. Please be patient, we cannot fix everything at once.
Updates include a change to how the game header looks, some changes to how geeklists look and how new items are shown when coming through a subscription link.
Finished systems? We have two systems that might be ready. Please test these, if we get no serious reports they will be considered ready
GeekMod is easy to test, work on the queues on the beta site. Item Creation is not as straightforward, but please do this too. Create items and note that it is done for testing beta, and that it should not be accepted.
BugDigger problem with IE There have been problems creating reports through the BugDigger plugin for IE for 2-3 days, due to a plugin update with some problems. Screenshot and other info was not attached, but the reports were saved. BugDigger have released another update (please donwload that) and also a server-side plugin that we will update to later today. Please tell me if there are still problems with this on Sunday or later.
Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it. Margin incorrect on forum posts. Fixed. Geeklist Browser Issues. Fixed many things, also for files and threads browsers. Missing Files browser in profile. Added. Updated geeklist item not visable enough. Fixed. Paging scrolls up too far on blog posts. Fixed. Text in forum posts cut off in module view. Fixed. Wide option selection is not saved. This has been worked on, and should work now. Please test again if you had problems before, report any issues. Title for gallery view buttons are juxtaposed. Fixed. Single-quote messes up collection search. Fixed, also some paging bugs. User submitted images should be in profile. Added. Layout of game header. This has been changed with some new parts added.
Thanks for your help!

Changing Domains If you want to change domains you click on the images on the footer of the page, the URL won’t change but until you do something to change again you should still be on the new domain.
New Global Forums Although there are three “domains” to the geek, in the end it is only one big site, instead of a simple network of sites. In face of that there has been a change to the organization of the forums. The old GeekDo News got some new friends, and they are now visible on the Forum list under “Global Forums”. The new forums are: - How to Geek; - Geek Bugs; - Geek Suggestions; - Complaints Department; - RSP; - Spam; - Testing;
Other known issues, new are underlined If you experience strange layout issues, especially if you get them in one browser but not in another, clear the browser cache. This is especially common with Chrome, make sure you clear the caches properly in the settings, shift-reload does not work.
Green question mark images are placeholders.
Subscription to blog posts does not reset.
All customization settings will be reset when the site is released.
Geeklists are getting reworked. The functionality is there, it works, but it will be changed in layout.
The site loads slow from time to time.

Geekgold The system for GeekGold should now be complete. Lots of fixes, and especially the user-to-user transfer system is now in place. Please test everything connected to GeekGold, that the functions are there and that they do what you expect, and that they are easy to use.
More help The wide layout has worked well for most testers. That, Wiki, Profile, Image page, Video page, have all been worked on and need more testing. For example, test editing game descriptions and additional information (wiki system), check that everything you can do in the profile of yourself and others on the old site also can be done on the new, and test all customizable pages (not only the front page).
Some of the issues that were fixed during the last week. Please check, especially if you reported it. Weblinks font much bigger than rest of page. Fixed. Blog post overlaps banner. Fixed. Some forums don't show up. Fixed, going directly to a forums now ignores your personal settings for what to filter out. Major time lag when clicking "edit layout". Fixed. Can't rename hot images bucket. Fixed this, plus videos and subdomain. Missing button to go to the last page of a thread. Fixed. Background blue on flag mouseovers is too dark to comfortably read. Fixed. When changing the gallery of an image, the gallery does not change. Fixed, including some underlying issues. Very important report, thanks indigopotter! Click "Edit Layout," the whole page goes gray. Fixed. Game page gallery thumbnails only 3 wide when there's room for 6 across. Fixed. Can't activate multiple columns on front page. Fixed. The quickbar doesn't look right with the wide layout. Fixed. 'Mini' format for Version bucket on a game page shows lots of scroll bars. Fixed. Recommend/flagging a thread doesn't always work. Fixed. Rename forums on the front page to General Forums. Fixed. Browse videos link from front page videos bucket broken. Fixed. Delete image broken. Fixed. Incorrect redirect on canceling edit of Item Description. Fixed. Problems with pager jumping to a page. Fixed. Small buckets with long header text obscures expand and gear links. Fixed.
Thanks for your help!

There still seems to be some problems with testers not being able to activate the wide layout, we are working on in. Overall the wide layout and customization seems to work well!
This is a pure bugfix release, where bugfixes over the last two weeks are listed. Focus for testing is still the same as by the previous release (Wiki, Image Page/Video Page, Profile, Wide layout and customization). Thanks for your help!

Wide layoutSorry for the delay with this update, we really wanted to get the new wide layout into a testable stage as quickly as possible! See this separate post with instructions and more examples. Example of Customized RPGGeek Front pageProfileThe writings section of the user profile page has been overhauled. All links in "writings" should now work, as should everything grouped under writings. Geekquestions have been temporarily removed from writings, until the feature is done. Many other bugs on Profile have been fixed, with the exception of user-to-user geekgold transfers. Recent activity now works. Image page and Video pageThe layout of these have been changed, and some of the functionality too. There is a new gear icon that holds a menu for things that can be done. WikiThe Wiki should now work. Edit uploaded screenshots with BugDiggerIt is now possible to edit the automatically captured screenshots. This was made possible by an update from the BugDigger developers, thanks! Click the image to edit, add arrows, text and field marks, click save, and you will see a new additional screenshot attached. You can deselect the original screenshot to not upload that one. Note the new, underlined, additional notes at the bottom of this post. Thanks for your help! BETA SYSTEMS STATUS Tested and complete None
