Um...I don't get it.

Yeah it is pretty and yeah it plays smooth-er than the last two. but i dont get what the big deal is.

i can't even see that there is an over all story. in morrowind there was some shit about a god and you had some other junk pushing you along, in obliv you had a king guy thrust your quest on you...

wtf am i even doing? i just got a voice and now some old creepy dudes on a mt. want me to come hang out?

or i can just sit around being a wood cutter and a black smith?

like really, did i miss the main plot? is it the dragons? WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING?

UM....

the level up system is weird. it's neat that it is more stream lined i guess, but i feel less in control. and the critical hit video slow mo thing has gotten old. yeah i know its from fallout 3...but that is where it should have stayed.

i need to go back and check on elder scrolls 1 and 2, do you ALWAYS start as an uncounsios (sp) prisoner?

Aye, it is nothing special. Just a nice place to waste time with. But nothing special. Since the difficulty and item system is... well... lets be friendly and call it 'casual' I have a lot of problems to find enough will to play it again (haven't completed yet). The characters are also very very weak. Don't care for any of them.

I played a lot of fallout 3 and I decided I wasn't interested in Skyrim because I would have missed the guns and VATS system.

Since Skyrim apparently is not your type of game, I would suggest that you try Assassins Creed or Arkham Asylum or one of the other tremendous blockbusters that are currently flooding the market.(Mass Effect anyone?)

And, yes the main character has always started his or her journey as a prisoner.

Im on the final chapter/game of assassins creed, just can't get motivated to play it. And I haven't even put arkam city in yet, just sits there taunting me. I play a lot of battlefield 3. I thi k because it's fast to do a match and I can go about my business. I miss a good turn based rpg though. I've never liked adventure/action RPGs. They aren't real RPGs to me.

They have definitely taken a very light touch on the main quest, so that you seldom feel like it makes no sense that you'd be able to leave the next quest for whenever you feel like it. I left it MONTHS of in-game time between the Jarl saying I should go see the Greybeards and actually going there.
