From their web site:
At its core, Tabuals is a deck of 36 cards. Each card representing a possible combination of a pair of dice as depicted in the chart below.
Most Tabuals games utilize these core cards. But as the library of games began to grow, so did the need for a larger deck. This is when the blank dice were introduced, thus bringing the deck to 49. But still other games needed a special card to change the mechanics of that game, so the JINX card was added to complete the deck at 50.
We wanted to create a deck of cards that you could pull out at any time and play with any group of players. This offered more flexibility than creating a deck of cards around one particular game. Building the many games around one deck of cards proved rich with ideas. There are trick-taking games, poker style games, unique games, as well as new twists on old favorites. Whatever the mood, Tabuals has you covered. We also encourage players to create their own games and submit them to share with other Tabuals players. And just because we provide rules to the games we create, we provide them as general guideline. Feel free to add a rule or even remove a rule as you see fit. Go ahead and change it up!
We went into this hoping that Tabuals would find a place in someone's drawer next to their standard deck of 52 playing cards. It was designed for the card lover who enjoys strategy, luck and most of all fun.
And remember...Tabuals is your game just as much as it is ours. So, get creative....get to playing...and most of all...get your Tabuals.
