Twilight Imperium Third Edition is an epic empire-building game of interstellar conflict, trade, and struggle for power. Players take the roles of ancient galactic civilizations, each seeking to seize the imperial throne via warfare, diplomacy, and technological progression. With geomorphic board tiles, exquisite plastic miniatures, hundreds of cards, and introducing a rich set of strategic dimensions that allows each player to refocus their game-plan, the original designer Christian T. Petersen has seamlessly incorporated the better qualities of other recently popular games to improve on the game-play of the original TI, making it at once perfectly well-rounded and pleasantly familiar to experienced gamers.
TI3 is played by at least three players who belong to ten possible alien races, each with their own advantages and quirks. The 'designer notes' in the rulebook candidly and humbly acknowledge the inspiration for some of the improvements to the original game. The strategic game-play borrows the governing element from 'Puerto Rico' to involve players in an iteratively complex and yet fast-paced game experience with very little downtime. The game map, basic player progress and overall victory are dynamically determined in almost exactly the same way as they are by imaginative players of 'Settlers of Catan', while the "Command" system cleverly improves on the 'oil' logistical mechanism of 'Attack' to both manage turn-based activity and limit the size of armies, uniquely enabling weakened players to bounce back if they play their cards right.
Shipping in a massive (12” x 24”) epic-size box, this new giant-size edition of TI feature almost 350 masterfully sculpted oversize plastic miniatures - the typical TI units (Ground Forces, Cruisers, Dreadnoughts, Carriers, Fighters, PDS, and Space Docks) as well as two new units (the massive War Sun and the Destroyer). The publication of Twilight Imperium Third Edition (TI3) is a historical publication in FFG’s history. Twilight Imperium First Edition was FFG's first game product, and through two popular editions it has garnered a massive audience across the world and the Twilight Imperium name has been a pillar of growth and recognition for FFG.
I made this checklist of Optional Rules for my gaming group and decided to go ahead and upload it here too. It has the optional rules organized into categories and some simple logic statements.

This is just a reissue of Oigelb's excellent Living Rulebook, already published on BGG (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/75151/twilight-imperium-living-rulebook): it has been totally re-edited, re-laid out from start to finish, with much better/official graphics, all relevant figures and icons added and a form-factor perfect for being read on a 16:9 tablet or printed on both sides of an A4 sheet (I can provide a booklet style PDF, with pages in the correct order: 72-1-2-71...).
After all, this is a game that *demands* having a practical way to search through all the rules, the FAQs and the erratas... ;)

Made my own TI Gameboard. As requested I post here the map, but I deleted the artwork of FFG, because I did not asked for permission to use their graphics from the rulebook. Rest of the graphics are based on free image-material and fonts from the internets. Remember this is a non-commercial and unofficial board for this game.
TI3 teaching guide (V1.0) is a guide intended to be used by somebody who already knows the rules to Twilight Imperium, but would like a framework to teach the game. The emphasis of this teaching model is to get players playing the game as quickly by teaching only what has to be taught before the game begins.
