Description Edit | History

Western Town is a western-atmosphere management game you play with cards. It can be played with 2 to 4 players and is accessible for everyone starting at 12 years old.
Each round lasts 1h30 for 4 players, 45 minutes for 2 players.

In Western Town, players are in the Marshals shoes, which are expending in the 1864 west america. The conquest of the west starts and each Marshal wants attemps to develop the most prosperous town, which Lincoln himself will really like.

The three principal criteria allowing you to win are the population of your town, the charm/attractive you town will procure and finaly the gold you will have give to the nation. The turns are regulated by the visits of Lincoln who declares bit-by-bit the value of those three criterias. This is why the multiplication factor of these criterias can change at every round : you need to adapt to win this game!
Making the most out of every player is important and will allow you to be better than your opponents.
Each player has his own board on which he will be building his western town. Every bit built give him right to do something more in the game. The bigger your town gets, you get a richer game. However, you won't be able to manage everything, you'll have to choose, at the beginning of each round of the game, the few buildings you will play with !
This is a crucial choice to be able to counter your sparring partner and regain the advantage on the reveal phase.

A building-adding mechanism helps the players to stay in the game and not get lost in an amount of choices at the beginning of the game. It also allows a new round.
In fact, Western Town offers 22 different buildings, 6 of them are put a side every round.
These « Bonus » buildings are forced to adapt to a strategie depending on the fonctions of the possible constructions and to test new combos.

Western fans will be satisfied : the game immerge via logic effects according to the building, bluff, unfair actions as found in westerns and finally the intervention of indiens – to cool the most recklesses players ardour.

Western Town was a print&play game, but after lot of changes, tests and tuning, the game going to publish to Essen 2012.
