This game is less of a game and more of a puzzle, which explains why there's such an odd number of solutions possible. There's a four-piece modular board that forms a large room with walls spread around the board. There are also color-coded targets on boards. Placed on top of the surface are four robots. The idea for each turn/puzzle is to get the like-colored robot to a randomly selected target. The trick is that once a robot starts moving, it will continue to move until a wall or another robot stops it. Therefore, players are seeking a sequence of moves for the robots that will enable them to move the required robot to the target in the fewest moves.
Immediately returning a robot back in the opposite direction it has just travelled from is an illegal move, as this would be classed as a Rebound, and not a Ricochet. The rules state that a robot may only either stop, or ricochet off at right angles, left or right.
An active robot must Ricochet off an obstacle at least once to successfully complete a round. So finishing a set-up in one move is not allowed. An active robot is classed as the robot which currently corresponds to the target space.

RicRobRio.hp is a file for your HP 50g or 49g+ programmable calculator which will place robots randomly on the board at the start of the game.
ReadmeRio.pdf is a document explaining how to use the file.
EDIT: Clarification: This is for the blue box 1993 RG edition.
This updated version comes complete with four double-sided board pieces which contain the correct wall & target placements. It helps the person responsible for creating Scenarios considerably, as they no longer have to place the walls and target locations individually.
I've also removed the diagonals and black Robot, so the game is more streamlined and plays just like the first edition.
