Gameopolis is an independent, non-commercial podcast about the gaming hobby. Gameopolis covers all types of games including boardgames, card games, roleplaying games, and the occasional computer or portable platform game. Additionally, the show sometimes covers gaming conventions, game stores, or other themes related to gaming.
The co-hosts, Mark and Jeff, broadcast from the Boston area in Massachusetts, and consider themselves to be basically "a couple guys who like talking about gaming". Neither has ever worked in the gaming industry, and so have only their combined 60+ years as gamers/hobbyists as their credentials. Off-podcast, Mark and Jeff are family guys, which drives their quest to keep Gameopolis a family-friendly podcast. Additionally, Mark and Jeff game together regularly as part of the same gaming group.
The show is produced in an informal conversation format.
