Uhuuu. Carnaval, that means boobs on the runaway.
These are the Rules
Who can participate? Everyone can take part of the system, with the following exceptions: new users cannot list items unless they are a patron.
How to bid for an item? If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning: 1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game. 2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item, and if there are bonus for multiple geekgold bid. 3. The bid is binding. Which means that once you bid the item it is assumed that you read the entry completely, understood and therefore want to take part of the drawing. The lister doesn't have an obligation to give your tip back although most won't have an issue. If for some reason an user withdraws from a lottery and should not be chosen as an winner, the lister should contact me to have his name ignored.
How to put an item on the lottery? If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold: 1. Post it as an item on the list. 2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box 3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much. 4. Specify when your item will close for entries. 5. You can post Board Games, Video Games, RPGs, and related items. You cannot make a lottery for Geekgold or something completely unrelated the main entry, although these types of item can be added as bonus or as second winners. You can put gift cards as long as it is for an store related with the domains (i.e. no gift card to a convenience or department store allowed, but one for steam, funagain, drivethru rpg, etc can be raffled). 6. Always link to the correct item on the database. So if you are auctioning the Video Game version of Puerto Rico link to Puerto Rico and not to Puerto Rico. 7. To guarantee that the item will appear on the subscription page, allow for at least 1 week between listing and drawing. 8. Miscellaneous game entries, like FIMO miniatures, pimp items, etc should be added using Miscellaneous Game Accessory, Miscellaneous Miniatures Game Accessory or Miscellaneous Card Game Accessory as appropriate. 9. The item must be draw between February 1st, 2012 and February 29th, 2012
Specific rules for types of item 1. For board games, contact me before adding homemade versions of non-Print and Play games. 2. For RPGs remember that the spirit of these lotteries is one of fairness. So, make sure that if you offer a PDF version of a given book, that you have the right to resell it, put on the item that it is indeed a PDF. Personal scans, illegal digital copies and xerox of books are not permitted. 3. For video games, no pirated or bootleg version is allowed. Remember that some online versions have pretty strict rules on what you can do with your copy. So when offering a game, make sure that you indeed can transfer the full ownership of it to the user. In case a new potential user would have some restriction with the new game, like not been allowed to access official online serves, add this information to the post. 4. If you are in some way connected with the item in question, either as a publisher or as a designer, contact me before posting any such item. And send me the wording you intend for the entry.
What to do when the lottery ends? 1. When closed, use the Copycat Awesome Tool to select an winner. 2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game. 3. Send them the game. 4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that. 5. When an item is closed don't delete them.
How to use the Copycat Awesome tool? 1. Go to Copycat Awesome Tool; 2. Use your BGG login and password to log into the tool. The password is not kept by it, but it is sent directly to BGG for authentication. 3. On the Home Page of the tool there is a list with all of your listed items, just click on the correct one; 3.1 Optionally go to Items->Check Item and type the unique id for your item. To get the number right click the Postdate on the geekitem and check the #itemid part, that is the id; 4. Once you are on the item page, click the Roll Item button. The button will appear on the beginning of the date you want the drawing, as seen by the server (the server is located at the GMT-4 timezone) 5. The next page will have the name(s) of the winner(s) and a block of text you can copy to post on the tool if you want.
What should I do if the tool is incorrect? Part of the tool is updated manually by me. The drawing date, number of winners, bonus and rules, are added by me on the tool based on what is written on the item. I usually do an update a week, so after I do that your item should correctly appear on the tool. Before you draw check if the item is correct. Check the number of winners that are activated, the amount of geekgold tipped, and if the rules are correct. In case there is any problems, contact me before rolling the item. I will fix the issue and contact you back so you can roll the item.
I want to use a different bonus structure, can I? The answer is maybe. The tool is vary powerful and customizable but some things it can't do. By default, anything dealing with other items can't be done easily, nor can anything that is not a mathematical change on the geekgold. It is possible though to add special rules to items, so contact me before listing the item so I can tell you if it is possible. In the case the tool can't do it and I can't add,you can't use.
I think there is something wrong on an item, what should I do? If you suspect that something is wrong with any item on the lottery, please contact me by GeekMail explaining which behavior you saw that got you suspicious. If you won an item and the lister is logging but not contacting you, or has disappeared from BGG contact me as soon as possible. If the item should have arrived already but hasn't and the lister is not being cooperative or answering your inquires, also contact me so we can solve this in a timely manner.
Can I tip back people who tipped me? Yes, you can use the GeekGold any user tipped you to tip on one of his items for lottery, but with discretion. You are not allowed to enter in collusion with an user to circle tip each other to get your chances very high. Doing so will remove both from the lotteries and take the geekgold incurred during it. Simple getting a tip and tipping back is not a problem. If you realize that there is an item one user has that you really want, and he really wants one of yours. Propose a trade (users are encouraged to add, before listing, items they want to lottery off on their Trade list), and if it goes through you reimburse the geekgold of every other participant.
Additional rules and guidelines 1. Don't update more than once a day; 2. Editing for the sake of trying to attract people is bad behavior. Doing it everyday (countdown to draw) is even worst. When an entry is updated I go check it to see if I have to change anything on the tool entry for it, and when there are half the items with updates, that can be a bit difficult; 3.Posting on the Game's Forums or on the General Gaming forums and GeekMailing users about the offers your put on the lotteries is considered spam and should not be done. We have a very high profile subscription thread on the GeekBay forums, which should take care of adding visibility. Rare will be the user that wants to take part but doesn't know already about it. 4. You cannot reserve a spot on the geeklist by adding a TBA announced post while waiting to post latter, just to have an earlier place.
Special notes Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!
Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.
Special Note #3: This is more a personal request, please try to avoid over complicated bonus schemes and shipping thresholds. Although I understand and find it funny when an user goes with 10 different levels of free shipping with some countries here and there, I have to update this info manually on the tool for it to show on the update, and that delays the subscription update (a simple listing takes 10 sec, a more complicated can take up to 2 minutes)

This one is in some form of limbo. I got a database error trying to roll it (though my other entries rolled fine). On trying to roll again, I got a duplicate key error. I guess we will have to wait for Sol to sort it out.
Item:
On offer is my build of my game, Octopath. This has been lying around in my 'finished' pile for a while, largely out of apathy after a very well known publisher decided to look at it, but after 9 months said no thanks. Anyway, I eventually got around to putting it up on the geek, complete with all the stuff you need to PnP your own copy.
Octopath, like most of my games is a fairly light family/gateway sort of game: my group tends to not play much else. It is a tile laying game with a nice little hook in that it has two types of tiles: big octagonal ones and small square ones. Players try to build completed paths between the mines that are on some of the mountain (square) tiles, whilst trying to pinch roads from others by careful tile laying. Although it is fairly simple it certainly rewards skill: one of my daughters has beaten me nearly every time we have played. You can't imagine just how embarrassing that is ...
For those without the PnP skills, materials or temperament, here's a copy I built earlier.
My build has greyboard (= chipboard in the US of A) tiles: 4x18 = 72 Octagonal ("valley") tiles and 90 mountain tiles. Bags of gold used as currency/VPs are also on greyboard. It comes with a draw bag for the mountain tiles, and 5 meeples for each of up to 6 players, all in a box that is probably a bit too big, but there you go. Comprehensive rules, and even a 4 page "getting started".
As usual I am offering free shipping worldwide.
Entries: 1 = 1 entry 5 = 6 entries 25 = 35 entries 100 = 150 entries
Bonuses: None for now, but if the numbers get silly, I might contemplate offering a second, etc., set.
Shipping: As ever, free shipping worldwide.
End date: Unless I am unavoidably detained, the draw will be made on February 29th, UK time.

Item:
On offer is my build of another of my games, Frog and toad. This has been lying around in my 'finished' pile for a while, largely out of apathy after the Octopath story, above. Anyway, I eventually got around to putting it up on the geek, complete with all the stuff you need to PnP your own copy.
Frog and toad, like most of my games is a fairly light family/gateway sort of game: my group tends to not play much else. It is a curious little race game, somewhat influenced by Hare & Tortoise - my view of what Hare and Tortoise might have been if approached from a euro reference point. So it has an action point mechanic, where the first part of each turn is the players choosing the actions they are going to take, and the second part is taking those actions. Amongst the actions available are some to change the order of selecting or taking actions, together with simple walks to more complex hops for the froads (they can't make up their minds whether they are frogs or toads), which has one going forwards and one going backwards. Bonus tokens are also available to be earned on certain squares, or by moving backwards.
For those without the PnP skills, materials or temperament, here's a copy I built earlier.
My build has labels stuck onto a premade board. The bonus tokens are thick double-sided card, and there are two meeples for each of up to 6 players, two action cubes each, and a pile of other cubes to indicate game settings. Comprehensive rules. I intend to provide a large box (like the Octopath box, above) but have not even done a top for my copy yet. I will post a picture of the entire build once done.
As usual I am offering free shipping worldwide.

Or, Potential Kickstarter Double Pack!
Up for lotteryin' is a copy of the newly minted Imperial Crusade Armada, in brand new, unwrapped condition. It's a clever little miniatures wargame that uses hard plastic cards and dry erasers to mark damage.
Includes markers, dice, tokens, a ton of ship-cards, and a measuring tape. It's a beauty, and I was thrilled to support it. If I wasn't already into the double digits of unplayed games, I wouldn't be passing on it, but it deserves a better home than I can give it.
Unlocked!: Also included is Kamakura, another Kickstarter card game. This is the first printing, so it has some of the slightly misprinted edges, but it doesn't affect play. It's a light little game, and I wasn't terribly engaged by it, but it's got a nice aesthetic sense, and simple rules.
Unlocked!: I'll also add a copy of Dan Dare, a modern reprint of a 1950's trick taking card game, unopened and unplayed, and delightfully retro looking!
Entries 1 = 1 entry 10 = 11 entries 50 = 60 entires 100 = 130 entries
Shipping: Free to anywheres and anywhen, but the chronotically displaced must pay for my return trip.
Draw Date: February 28th.

I know I said I wasn't willing to part with it last year... but boy, is that shelf filling up fast...
Up for lotteryin' is a well kept copy of the Wraith the Oblivion core rulebook. It's in fine structural condition, but it lacks the shine of brand new hard cover rulebook.
This was always my favorite of the Storyteller games, but I never every played it, and hell, I must admit I never will. To many little crazy new indie games to chew up.
May you get more games out of it than I did!
This one has a silly, mean spirited bonus. I really don't want to get rid of this book. Despite not being my favorite system, I love, love, love the layout of this book, the art, the borders... it all reminds me of storybooks of my youth. I'll never play this one either, but I don't want to part with it.
However, if this makes 1500 , I will throw in my copy of Changeling: The Dreaming (Second Edition). But it won't. And I'll eventually throw it up on the lotteries in the next couple of months. So, ignore this part. Unless you really want it now.

Shipping Free to U.S. (I don't want to deal with international shipping, so shipping is limited to US only.) = 1 Entry 5 = 7 Entries Will be drawn February 16th.

Up for Grabs is The Hanging Gardens.
I won this in a GFGG lotto last year and only played it once- I don't think it'll make it back to the table, despite being a pretty cool game.
It is used but in great shape. All pieces are in the box and the box is in like new condition.

This is for a tiny little teenie-weenie gaming surprise package. I can promise that it will contain dice and a small game. It will also contain some other strange gaming stuff. Maybe it will contain an expansion or a print-n-play game? My lips are sealed.
My only promise is I will have fun putting it together. I hope you will have fun opening it. I will consult your profile to try to match the items to your interests.
There will be no bonus entries because I am encouraging people to just drop a couple of on this - let's keep this all very tiny and fun. No big investments and no big promises. Just a little surprise.
Free shipping worldwide. It will come in a padded envelope.
Closes in the afternoon on February 29.
Here is an example:
Sigafoos wrote: The package arrived yesterday! I saw it as we were heading out to dinner so I put it in the car and looked forward to getting back home. Apologies for the pictures; they were taken with an iPhone against an extremely reflective table. It's pretty big! I couldn't wait to tear it open. And oh, the things that awaited me inside. Yeah. Yeah. To run down the list: A set of poker dice. Three "Cancer sucks!" bracelets. Four bags of gold plastic army men (and women, I believe). A bag of wooden lightening tokens. Chronicle. I looked over the rules and this seems like a perfect fit for my gaming group (which unfortunately isn't meeting tonight like usual). An issue of Spielbox. I've never read it before but I flipped through last night and it looks like there's a lot of interesting stuff inside (including a small game about the fall of Rome). This is the coolest thing in my opinion. A dice bag made out of a rabbit pelt. I didn't have a dice bag, but I do now! Cate says she got it from an Ojibwa hunter at a Native American festival. It was wrapped in a plastic bag that looked like it had some red liquid inside it at one point, so my first thought was "...did she send me a dead animal?" I don't know where the liquid came from as it wasn't anywhere on the bag itself: it's in great shape! Now I need to find an excuse to roll some dice. At first I thought this was a neat little toy gun. Then I saw the picture of a fly on the side and realized it was the greatest fly swatter of all time. I'm speechless at how awesome this stuff is. Cate's generosity is overwhelming, and I pretty much have to offer something up in next year's Supporter Drive, right? Now I need to think up a game involving lightning and army men. My two year old was already really late for bed, but he likes dice so I put the poker dice into the dice bag and let him take a few out and roll them. Thank you, Cate! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
