Here's my favorite Nintendo DS games. One just got released recently which compromises just about the entire list all on one convenient package. 42 All Time Classics (aka Clubhouse Games). These games you can play over the internet or up to 8 friends locally. Play chess or checkers or card games if you have enough Nintendo DS. I personally have four Nintendo DS Lites so hopefully can get a multiplayer game going.

First cover a couple of other DS games BGG related of course. (sidenote: a couple of honorable mentions which are nice turn-based strategy games Advance Wars Dual Strike and Age of Empires III: Age of Kings and soon to be released is The Settlers http://ds.ign.com/articles/730/730196p1.html

Can't Stop 0.2 Opening screen has exact same graphic art as the new French portable version. Only 2 player now with no AI but good for playing with the wife quickly. Currently at version 0.2 this is a homebrew app btw.

Two of them actually. One has a decent AI (at least for me...I'm a beginner) which is called Dekiru Igo but the best for me is the one that has problems to solve called Tsume Go

There's also the two japanese Hikaru No Go games, playable in the DS.

The first one takes a lot longer to think, but it's much stronger than the second one.

Are Dekiru Igo and Tsume Go homebrew?

Are the Hikaru no Go games GBA or DS? Where did you import them from? Are they too frustrating if you don't know the language?

Also Ultimate Brain Games is slated to come out soon (although it's been that way for a while so YMMV) with a go implementation. Should have wifi as well.

Puzzle Series Vol. 4 - Kakuro Ok I like this better than Sudoku (and yes I like Sudoku quite a bit). The vertically and horizontal columns much match the sum and like Sudoku no two numbers can be the same. Example if sum is 4 and there are only two spaces you know it's a 3 and a 1. If there are two spaces and sum is 5 it's either 4 and 1 or 3 and 2.

I hadn't seen a Kakuro puzzle before...funny, I've been doing these puzzles for 20 years in those cheapo supermarket puzzle books as "Number Crosswords." Funny how throwing a Japanese sounding name on something can make it popular

My wife has been playing these for almost 10 years now. They also go by the name of cross sums. She can now tell you the sum of a non-repeating sequence of numbers up to 12 without even stopping to think about it. I'm still working on remembering my new phone number 1 month after moving...

Sudoku Gridmaster This one is sweet it highlights vertically and horizontally for you to show you the columns. It's not cheating it's just a visual helper. The feature is can be toggled on or off.

rest of the games listed here are all on this title...it's just an awesome title to get. And yes all titles have an AI (up to 3 AI opponents for four player games) or you can play multiplayer with local built-in wifi.

edit: Ok finally got to it in stamp mode...the last one before level 4...wow it took forever. Yep there are Generals, Field Officers, Company Officers, Airplanes, Tanks, Cavalry, Engineers for the player pieces and also Mines and a Regiment (Flag) and a Spy. Sure sounds like Stratego to me.

Hmm, I wish we could add items to this list There's one in particular that I think is a pretty good port from "board game" to "DS game" (and people who know me probably can guess which one, but I'd like to add it as an item before I spoil the surprise, if that becomes possible).
