At the office, I am known as "something of a freak" because I get excited about wargames, military topics of conversation, history and such. I even have a row of miniature tanks across the top of my monitor stand.

When asked what I would be doing for Valentine's Day, I didn't hesitate to spout out "I'm playing wargames all night!" (I really should have known better, but that apparently didn't get to my brain before my mouth started going. blush ) My supervisor immediately shot back with "Nothing says love like a panzer in the bedroom!" and a co-worker yelled "Incoming!" before fleeing the office.

So it makes me wonder... what are other people doing or playing today?

We started the evening with CC:E - working out a new scenario. Loads of fun. And a new map, too!

With little time left, we went from shooting at each other to racing madly about the French countryside, crashing into things, suffering numerous flat tires and empty gas tanks. And I never once drew a safety card!!

One variant I've played is where you have a choice to draw the top card from the discard pile or from the draw pile. This adds a new dimension that makes you think twice about discarding remedies.

I've never found this game to be good with just two people. Is there varient rules or anything for this?

I think my post was misleading - there were three of us in for this one.

And I have never seen so much "draw - sigh - discard" as we all sat around creved and crashed waiting for the right cards to get repaired and rolling again.

We played Hex Hex and loved it for the deflections but not the full round ending cards. We took some of them out and liked it better. Nothing says I hate V-day than stabbing someone in the back. I was going to suggest Funny Friends but we ran out of time today.

This is a fun game. And I bought a second one just to get more of the GREAT card/tile holders.

I got to try Oasis for the first time. It's a really good game. I'm wondering now why it was a cheapie at Tanga.

Sorry, Joe! I actually did look to see if anyone else had one going and somehow missed it. About two minutes after I hit "Submit" and was looking at another article, I spotted it and then couldn't figure out how to take mine back. blush
