Annual sales of 200,000 units, according to an French-language Air Le Mag article (March, 2009). Interestingly, the article draws a direct comparison to Trivial Pursuit which it says has annual sales of 250,000 units - an estimate that seems quite low (although it could be referring solely to the base edition). Reported on BoardGameNews.com.

No wonder so many BGG users are popping up with those ubiquitous designer badges... Mo Money baby.
Imagine getting half a dollar for one copy sold.
Imagine years of planning, testing and then all the production problems.
Look at the list again and make a list of those games which brought the designers so much money that they could design board games for a living (think of a popular board game that sells 100.000 copies - you get 50.000 USD for years of work).
Now compare the number of games in the database and the number of games that sold more than 300.000 copies.
And I was just celebrating because my last game sold it's Nº 1000 copy...
So what are you doing with your $1,000,000??? Is it nice not having to work anymore?!
Congrats, you should definitely celebrate!

1000 copies are a success that deserves celebration, at least on secondary boardgame markets such as the ones of my nation and your nation. Bravo!
