These other geeklists are directories of sites which have
multiple online games.

The intent of this list is to help you decide which game sites might
be worth the trouble of investigating further, based on the types of
games and the type of interface.

I will periodically re-order this list according to the number of thumbs-up the individual items receive, so the the best sites are rated highest.

Guidelines: The accompanying image should be a representative screen shot if you can find one. The sites should be good enough that you actually play there.

http://www.Boardspace.net/ features real time play of abstract strategy games. The site is intended to for play with other people, but most of the games have robot opponents available. Most of the games are 2-player abstracts, but a few are multi-player and a few are not quite pure abstract. There are currently about 40 games available.

Interface: Java
Style: Real Time, against human or robot opponents.

Gametable Online has a mixture of 2 player abstracts and multiplayer games. Most of the games seem to have some commercial tie-in, but there is no overt commerciality on the site.

Interface: Java
Style: Real Time, against human opponents.
Cost: Some games are free. Small one-time payments to play newer games.

ZunTzu isn't a site, it's a game platform for online play, where you use a virtual gamebox to play. There's no enforcement of game rules, but live audio and video are supported. In principle, it's the closest thing to being there, warts and all.

Interface: Firefox or IE plugin
Style: Real time, with audio/video
Cost: Free

Battlegrounds isn't a website, it's a game platform for online (peer-to-peer) or offline play, using a "digital conversion" or Game Box to play a specific game (it's easy to make your own game conversions, too). The software does not enforce game rules, but many common game mechanics and dice-rolling mechanics are supported.

Battlegrounds virtual tabletop software comes in two flavors:

1) Battlegrounds: RPG Edition (aka BRPG) began as a tool for playing any pen-and-paper RPG online, but has gradually evolved to also support playing many wargames, boardgames, card games, and dice games.

2) Battlegrounds Gaming Engine (aka BGE) is specifically intended/tailored for playing many wargames, boardgames, card games, and dice games.

Neither BRPG nor BGE have an AI opponent. Digital game conversions for BRPG and BGE are cross-compatible.

Interface: Downloaded cross-platform application (Windows or Mac OS X)
Style: Real time, with 1-16 players
Cost (for BRPG): $39 for GM Client (needed for hosting games), $19 for Player Client or Floating License, free Demo available
Cost (for BGE): Ranges from $15 (for a Gamer Client with 1 free Player Slot) to $40 (for a Gamer Client with 15 free Player Slots)

Kurnik http://www.kurnik.org is a Polish realtime server available in lots of languages including English. It has 38 games, about half of which are card games and half are abstracts. I added this to the Wiki.

There's a new realtime server which is a gadget for iGoogle: http://www.googlegamecenter.com/ Or go to your iGoogle page at http://www.google.com/ig and add the Game Center gadget to it. It's just starting at the time of this writing, so there are only about a dozen games available including lots of checkers variants as well as Go, Battleship, and 11x11 Hex. In the works are some Hex variants such as larger grid sizes up to 15x15 and some strangely shaped boards. I didn't add this to the Wiki yet.

I created geeklists for Boîteàjeux & YouPlay. It, while I did add Boîte à jeux, I don't play there. (Because of the language issue.) And I did play at YouPlay it before, but their selection of games doesn't really grab me, so I didn't add it to this list. (I got bored with King Me!)
