There was a time in my life where I loved playing games.

Don't get me wrong! I still do!

There was a time, though, when I loved simple, Euro style games.

Then about a year or so ago I delved in PBEM games. I wrote a message to a fellow named Mark seeing if he was interested in a game of...

"Sure" says I. I've always thought it looked cool.

We play 2 games and I get trounced both times.

Then he strikes again.

"...Twilight Struggle?"

I think a moment. That's a true wargame right? Chits and all!

"....sure...ok. Let's play!"

It's been a few months and we're still playing our first game.

I love it, but...

...where will this bring me next?

I've already added two WARGAMES to my wishlist. Twilight Struggle is in the top 5 games I would really like to get soon.

MARK! YOU RUINED MY LIFE! Everytime I hear about certain wargames now I think I may want to give them a shot. I'm looking forward to 1960: Making of a President.

I've even looked into...

I think this is something I could get my dad to play. I've heard it's not too bad on the complexity scale.

Come on now! This doesn't really count as a wargame does it?

I have Battlelore. That's not really a wargame.

I'm off the hook on this one....right?

Right!?

There are the other ACTS games that I need to play more:
Here I Stand
Sword of Rome
Paths of Glory
Wilderness War

There are those pesky pre-orders that are flooding in now:
Hannibal: Rome and Carthage in The Second Punic War 219-202 B.C.
Conquest of Paradise

And next year:
FAB: The Bulge
Manoeuvre

It just doesn't stop. Many thanks to Robert for helping me keep my compulsion going.

Man, it's like you jumped into my head and wrote a GeekList from what you saw. I'm right there with you, man, but I've already delved into 1960: The Making of the President and Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage, with my eyes set on Commands & Colors: Ancients.

Hammer of the Scots, you say? Hmmm....

You really want to buy this, Isaac, trust me. Sight unseen. A simple ruleset, with asymmetric opposing forces, yielding an incredible experience.
