My wife is definitely NOT a heavy eurogamer, that being said I'm trying to introduce her to the hobby. Here are the games that I have tried and the result, either like, dislike, try it again or never again. Feel free to add your own to the list!
I should add that most of the time when she and I play it's just the two of us, so most of my games are two player only, but feel free to add as many as you like!
P.S. If you like the list, thumb it up! :-)

We've played this a few times. At first she was frustrated by all of the decision making, in fact I think I heard "Just tell me what to do" a larger number of times, but she's getting better each time.

I think it was the combination of scoring and the unfamiliarity with tile games that put her off Carcassonne. In fact, I've tried introducing two friends to this game as well and neither is very impressed with it. Maybe it's just too abstract, or not exciting enough with two people. Any suggestions on how to get her to try again and have more fun with it?
Update: We've had a long discussion on this and she really has issues with games that have spacial issues... we'll see this more and more down the list.

This was my first successful introduction of a game which she actually liked and requested to play again. At first we didn't know you could pick up cards from the middle piles, and once that happened it got much more tense!
This was a definite like, and I'd challenge you to find a woman who wouldn't like this one. Simple and elegant.

When I brought Can't Stop home and pulled out the board she was not in such a great mood, but I explained the rules and we trodged through the first few rounds. After 3 rounds she got it and gave it an "eh", which I think means she'll try it again. I think she liked that it was straightforward and kind of a race game.

To Court The King was our first step into what I'd consider for her level of gameplay to be a eurogame. She had a lot of trepidation about the cards, and not knowing what each one did. I told her for each roll what she could do and by the end of the second game she felt a lot better about it. I'll see if I can continue the forward motion on this one. Not sure though.

Well, I haven't played this with your wife, but I tried it with mine because she thought the panda was "so cute." It turned out she liked it a lot. We played with our 12 year old daughter and my wife went totally cutthroat, taking trucks my daughter wanted. It was great to see her being mean to someone other than me.

I hope I am not being sexist when I say women are probably better at choosing presents for their partner than men are, GiftTRAP is all about choosing the best gifts from a selection, so maybe your wife will feel she has the upperhand even before the game starts. Now for the bad news, its not a 2 player game. 3-8 players so this one will have to wait until theres friends over.

I haven't played this with your wife, but I have with mine. She enjoyed the theme & the nice bits, & will likely play it again with me.

This one was a big hit, we've played it several times now. First time was with my daughter (age 4.5), so adherence to the rules was a little shaky. Next time it hit the table we played 3x in a row. A definite keeper!

"Too long for the amount of fun" is what he said.

He started out hating it, but enjoyed it better by the end.. but still thought it was about 2 hrs too long. We'll have to try a 5 election variant.
(Methinks I should stop adding games to this list now, we'll be here all day...)

This was the first 2-player game I got specifically to play with my wife. She really likes Starfarers of Catan, so I thought this would be good. We played it quite a bit when I first got it, but we haven't played in ages. She was willing to play but I don't think she really dug it too much.

I got this because my wife loves Puerto Rico. It isn't nearly as good as PR and we don't enjoy it as much, but when there's only the two of us around, it's what we have.

This was has not been a success with my wife yet. We've played twice with two other players and both times she played a human. She takes it very personally when she gets attacked in a game. I'm going to try to get her to play the zombie side before I give up on this one. I'm hoping that playing a horde will alleviate the issue of taking it personally.

When we need a breather from Ticket to Ride, Transamerica, or Scrabble, we pull out Downfall of Pompeii. The rules are pretty easy, it plays well with just two players, and it's lively and moves quickly, with some tension (but not too much) and strategy.

With just two rules, quick action across the U.S. or Europe map (Europe map is in the Transeuropa edition), and a playing time of 10 minutes, my wife and I enjoy playing this one a lot.

An ideal afternoon is knocking work off early and playing this with my wife before dinner. We also like to take this to the local pub and play there while enjoying a bottle of wine or pitcher of beer (or both!).

So, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to introduce her to Race before San Juan. And maybe it wasn't such a good idea to do it when she's mostly played Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, and other traditional wife-games. But I did it. And she hated it.
First, she thought it was just her first play, so she didn't know the rules (was right). Then, she thought it was too late, and she was too tired to concentrate (right again, as always!)
Then, she played it during the day and decided that it was absolutely terrible, and that it ended just as things were getting going.
So after 4 plays, she decided she would never play it with me again. But, I didn't shut up about it, and after 5 plays, she asks to play again.
So, at the present time, it's a success!

I taught this to my wife last night. She actually asked to play it after viewing a video review:
It was almost a disaster, however. She played Jack first and hated it, claiming that it was too "thinky". To my surprise, she asked to play another game as the detective and loved it! After winning , her comment was, "I think I can be a kick-ass detective."
We'll see if she asks to play again, but I have high hopes.

One of the first games we played, and she really liked it, especially the buckets of dice aspect.

We played this last night for the first time and she seemed to have a good time with it. A definite purchase now since I'm borrowing it. Hooray!

Tried this and she took to it like a raven to flying. Definitely on the must purchase list now as I'm borrowing it!
Anyone have opinions on:
Hera And Zeus Caesar and Cleopatra Pyramid of the Jaguars Kahuna etc (Kosmos 2p games)

We played this without the tactics cards and although a little lukewarm I think I could get her to play again. :-)
Update: I ended up buying Schotten Totten because I figured she'd enjoy it more than Battle Line just due to the themese. Have yet to get it on the table though.
