So I had this idea, and wanted to see if people would latch onto it. I've seen many Geekgold Lotteries posted where someone pools the geekgold and awards the geekgold to a random player or two, but I wondered...what if the prize were a game?!
So here's how it will work...
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning: 1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game. 2. Only one geekgold entry per person, unless the person who lists the item says otherwise.
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold: 1. Post it as an item on the list. 2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. 3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. 4. Specify when your item will close for entries. 5. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. 6. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game. 7. Send them the game. 8. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" 9. When you have the winner's information and everyone has had a day or two to see who won, you can delete your geeklist item in order to keep the list clean.
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!
Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.
Special Note #3: This list is the first in what might become a regular monthly series of geekgold for game lotteries. If you are offering a game here, please draw for a winner by 9/30/09. A new list will be created in October.
Holy moly rock and roll-y! I never win anything. But I'm a good person and I'm sure this is a karmic reward for a lifetime of good deeds and self-sacrifice!
THANK YOU MANUEL!!!for your generosity and for helping kick these lotteries into a new realm! I hope your GG wins you many cool things in return.

Seriously, was that really necessary?
I'm guessing it was satire/sarcasm, which as we all know almost never comes across well on the internet.
Thanks to all who participated! I've been able to ... um ... bid on more auctions. (This thing is really addictive!) And tip some deserving folks I stumbled across here and there.
AND THE WINNER IS ... NEKURA!! CONGRATULATIONS! I will have this sent out in a few days, once I get back to a computer. GM sent! Thanks to all.
Here's a homemade PnP version of Zombie in my Pocket, a nice solo game that you literally can take anywhere. Cards and rules are on quality stock, and tiles are based with the sturdy floor paneling that others have used. Sweeteners include the following:
Family Fluxx (played once, in new condition)
&
Mille Bornes (box is a bit worn, sticker on front)

This lottery will end on September 30 at 10 pm EST. I accept multiple entries for 1 GG each. I will ship anywhere! Any questions, please ask. Thanks for helping me restock my GG and I hope you enjoy the games.
Pardon the poor photography. But I am offering 221 B Baker Street Game Set #3. It's in shrink. I purchased it used so I cannot guarantee anything, but it's got the book & pads & looks good to me. This is a straight up lottery. 1gg per entry one entry per person please. I will ship for free inside US & up to $10 anywhere outside.
again I apologize for the photography, but it's all there. the skeleton key & scotland yard badges both have 2 removed, but the remainder are still connect and complete.
edit: crap I apologize. I want this in the september list, so the drawing will be held roughly 10pm pacific time (as I live in oregon) on 9/27/9.
just to clarify the key & badge thing. All the keys & badges are that came with the game are there. 2 of each have been removed from the glued together stacks for playing the game. so all of them are complete, they just are not all connected to each other. did I make it more clear, or more confusing.....never mind ignore me...just consider it a complete, but used game.
1=1 entry, and you can enter as often as you like. I will also give a bonus entry for every 5 bid, meaning 5=6 entries, 10=12 entries, 100=120 entries! Good luck!
I will ship within the US, though I will use Parcel post. If you absolutely have to have it quicker, I will upgrade to Priority for $5 or 60, whichever you prefer.
Chris meant to say if he won, just let Hendal win this one since he will love it and hug it and pet it and kiss it and give it such a good home down in Costa Rica where we are a bit game deprived or depraved depending on who you are talking to
This item has ended. The result will be up in a few minutes.
The lucky winner is (drumroll...): UndeadViking - trade proposal is on the way. (Participants ordered alphabetically, see below for random.org result)
I would like to thank all the participants; you have been very generous. Now I have to find a way to spend all that GG...

New un"punched" German copy.
Free shipping to anywhere in the world.
To limit the shipping costs, I'm going to cut the card-sheets in half (extra-carefully, of course). You'll have to cut out the cards either way so that shouldn't be a problem.

In the build up to the second, limited release of my game I need more geekgold to support some promotional ideas I am cooking up. And of course as a self publisher I am as interested in people playing my game as I am selling it. So I would like to add for your review a new, signed copy of my game.
Enter as many times as you would like - 1GG per entry Auction is closed the winner was
As for all my games sold or given away I will donate $1 to Heifer International - Learn more about how Heifer builds stronger communities around the world at www.heifer.org.
The game is a quick playing two player and has 5 detailed reviews posted already - more to come soon (I hope) from the 70 first edition copies that are finding there way into people's hands now.
It is I was just counting again to confirm. Congratulations to Norway!
Still have one more in the October geekgold auction, and will be selling about 70 more copies on October 5th via the Indie Boards and Cards newsletter.

Wow! That's amazing. I just finished off my own draw a couple of hours ago. Used some of that GG to enter here. Was mostly just to be supportive of an indie company (signed up for their newsletter just recently), although the game looks very interesting! Never dreamed I'd win though! My gaming group will be very happy now. We decided to raffle off our extra Guardhouse to get some gold and try to win some new games. That worked out well

Thank you very much! Nice to see someone up on the mythology Dropped the 'sir' bit a few years back though, just seemed cocky, especialy for those "not in the loop".
This is a complete and never played copy of Dragonriders from Rio Grande Games. The game is in perfect condition, and matches the picture presented here. The parts have been punched and organized, but the game has never been played.
I will ship for free in the United States, and cover the first $8 for international shipping.
Multiple entries are acceptable. I will end the lottery on September 28th.
Been following this thread for a while but never participated yet. When I saw the Chuck No-Rice up for grabs, I remembered I have an unopened Guardhouse Expansion lying around, so thought I'd offer it up
As I said it is unopened, so in perfect condition. I will cover the shipping to anywhere in the world. The item will be closed for entries on midnight CET sunday 27th and the drawing will take place shortly thereafter using random.org, then ship as soon as I get the details from the winner (hopefully already on monday).
A copy of Saboteur still in the shrink and also a Spin-4-It
-Multiple entries are allowed, 1 per entry. -I'll ship no charge in the U.S. and cover the first $10 for shipping anywhere else. -This lottery will be closed for entries on Sunday the 27th Eastern Standard Time.
I will post notice here when the item is closed to new entries. Then pick a lucky winner by using the Spin-4-iT. Each entry will be given a number that will be placed around the Spin-4-It. Then I'll give the Spin-4-iT a spin to see if the "Lucky You" was you.
Heh, heh...I ran an auction once before with a lot of entries using a Spin-4-It to pick the winner. The best way is to divide the entries into groups of 5 or 10 first. Then spin again for the one winner.
Which is quite shocking, if you ask me. I only put this game in the lottery because I enjoy Race for the Galaxy more, and if I want this particular theme, I will play Puerto Rico. The game had been "on sale" in my annual "perpetual" garage sale, and never got any serious looks. So, I put it here. I would have never expected this many entries.
Thanks for all those that participated. I will be drawing the numbers sometime on Monday using random.org
I figured that since the last Loot lottery went so well, I would throw in my copy that doesn't get played any longer.
This is a complete and played "many" time copy of Loot from Gamewright Games. The game is complete, and has some moderate wear and tear to it because it is a card game, and it was played frequently.
I will ship for free in the United States, and cover the first $5 for international shipping.
Multiple entries are acceptable. I will end the lottery on September 28th.
I have only played this game once so it's in excellent condition. Free postage to any winner in Australia. Postage to other countries to be paid by the winner.
The auction will close on Sunday the 27th September 8:00 pm Australian time (Eastern Daylight Savings Time).
This is a straight forward, low complexity "Eastern Front" wargame. Item is punched, played, and the rear cover of the rulebook politely torn from the spine, as the VP track and turn track are there and I didn't want to photocopy it. Counters haven't had their corners clipped, but could use it.
So, again, the game isn't mint. But it is complete.
Auction ends on my birthday, Sept 28. Edit: I didn't say when on that day. I have to work then, being a Monday, so I'll randomly determine the winner sometime between when I wake up and when I have to leave for work; so that's 6am or so.
I will pick up the cost of shipping worldwide, but I will just be sticking this in an envelope with a cardboard stiffener. No exceptions.
Multiple entries permitted.
I think that's all I have to do. The rest is up to you.
RANDOM.ORG tells me that the winner, number 66, is... Omega2064
Congratulations Omega2064! Please contact me with your shipping info so I can send it out right away.
This one is also complete and in almost new condition - I've only played it once, and my wife hated it, so it's been sitting on my shelf for years. The box has a tiny bit of general wear on the corners, but there are no splits, and the contents are complete, bagged and in perfect shape.
I'll ship for free in the U.S. via USPS, but an International winner would have to pay their own shipping.
It appears I've decided to keep throwing items into the lottery until I win something. I'm not sure what logic there is in that, but don't mess with a good thing.
Now up up for your geekgold tippage is a brand new, sealed copy of Prince of Chaos: Battle for Tae Orn. Multiple entries are permitted for this item. Each 1 GG tipped gives you a number in the drawing.
Seriously, what are the chances that grafikchaos would win chaosjenkins' lottery for Prince of Chaos. Talk about chaos theory ... and that's without considering hatemyboss won hatemachine's lottery earlier. Somebody call Mulder.
Homiefud, what is best in life? - To crush your enemies, see them driven before you... and to hear the lamentation of those who lost out on the Age of Conan lottery!
So now that your hopes have been dashed, how about drowning your sorrows with a little Ameritrash goodness?
Thanks! But I've already got one, you see? And yes... itsa very niice!
Is there a dunce hat microbadge? I need one. I entered several lotteries including this one via tipping, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to give the GG so they can keep track of it

You were included in this lottery. Just click on the and choose an amount. You did it correctly.
"The Settlers Of Catan Book Of Games" - dozens of new scenarios and components for The Settlers of Catan punched but unplayed. The book is in German, but this Mayfair Games edition has an English translation provided for all of the scenarios.
Free shipping in the contintental US if the pot goes over 50 GG, otherwise winner pays the difference between the pot and 50 GG. Outside the continental US, add 50 GG for shipping.
Edit: I will sweeten this with a free microbadge coupon, an 8 value!
Winner will be selected using random.org on September 1522.
Edit: 50 GG threshold surpassed; US winners get free shipping.
AND THE WINNER IS... All entrants assigned a block of integers in alphabetical order, one integer per GG. Random.org integer generator used to generate a random nuber between 1 and 71...

Up for lottery is a punched, but unplayed copy of Carcassonne: Inns and Cathedrals.
I will ship this for FREE, but in the interest of myself being cheap I will ship this WITHOUT the box in a padded envelope. If you win and really want the box we can work something out. I'll also cover the first $5.00 internationally. This auction will end sometime in the afternoon/evening of Friday, September 18th.
The coolest best thing I have ever done in my life is being a father
Caleb, the best 6 month old little brother ever
OK - I have had an extra copy of this sitting on my shelf for too long so I am going to offer it up for your precious geek gold.
Enter as many times as you like - 1 will equal one entry.
I will cover shipping in the US, if you are out of the country, I will cover the first $10 of the actual shipping cost.
This copy is in pristine condition other than a little shelf wear - only been played a handful of times.
Let's give this one about 10 days or so before I draw a name - and if I forget to do it, please feel free to send me a hateful reminder geekmail to get me to draw the name.
Drawing will be on Sept 16th - around 5pm central time.
Thanks in advance for the gold!
THIS EXHIBIT IS CLOSED!!
Please allow me a little time to put all the people into a spreadsheet and then I am off to random.org
Gimme a few because I think my daughter just woke up from her nap...
Sorry for the length of time on this...being a dad and all that...
Anyway, click the video for the random.org action - I will GM the winner in a bit...

I'm giving you a just for the generosity of offering up this item! (But if I win, please draw another name. As much as this game looks like it would be right up my alley, I'm sure there are plenty of other people who would enjoy the theme more than I would and would get more quality play time out of a game like this than I.)
Frak! I can't believe I missed this auction! I found the list too late. I would have stayed up multiple nights in a row writing reviews just to enter this one. Oh well.
I say7 Celiborn and Helioa are banned from future lists, they keep winning p
No!! At least no until the War of the Ring lottery passes. To be honest, I've had a pretty crummy day at work so far, so this lottery has been a nice bright spot to this morning.
That's more than a month from now, meaning at least 59.5 new chances to win for celiborn...
I think UndeadViking also won quite a few, I guess it's could be a tie for most wins between him and celiborn at this point. Well, I've got two wins so at least a bit lucky.

I don't have any wins so far.
Is that enough of a "self-inflicted pity party" to increase my chances of winning anything?
PS. Some winners were deleted from this geeklist prior to September 11th, I added my own winning entry. Update: If you "want" to be on this list of fame/shame, geekmail me the details of deleted posts and I'll add you as one of the multiple winners.
