Since we were recently subjected to some of the most annoying TV commercials, I thought it would be a good idea to explore the flip side of advertising as well.
These are some commercials that, no matter how many times I've seen them, always seem to be able to make me laugh.
Progressive Insurance "That's a little insurance joke.. Really little.."
The last 10 seconds are the only funny part here.. The lines themselves are not funny, but the delivery just makes it hilarious. Flo could tell me little insurance jokes all day!
Reminds me of this scene, not an ad but one of the best restaurant scenes ever. What you miss before the clip starts is that the guy has ordered the "house special"...
"new and previously unimagined taste sensations..."
I'm from Colombia, and thus most of the TV commercials I've seen are either from products here, or from products in other Latin American countries. All of them, of course, in Spanish.
However, I did want to show a commercial from Davivienda bank. They have been making the funniest TV ads I've ever seen since the early 90s. Here's one of these commercials:

The idea behind their commercials is very simple, yet brilliant. They are all funny depictions of their motto: "En estos momentos su dinero puede estar en el lugar equivocado. Traigalo a Davivienda" (In these moments, your money can be at the wrong place. Bring it to Davivienda).
I didn't choose the funniest one (although it's still quite funny), but the one with the least amount of spoken Spanish. Now, for those of you who do understand Spanish, just go to YouTube and search "davivienda". I guarantee you'll have a great laugh!
Never fails to crack me up. There was a forum argument a while back about which girl scout cookies were the best; I always think of that when I see this.
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
I'm not saying that you're not entitled to your opinion. I'm just saying that you're wrong.
There was a considerably more tame variation on this commercial in the 'States. I think it was even for a different car company... But it was much more tame.
Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But God does not take away life; instead, he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him. 2 Sam 14:14
Wow! One I remember from when it was on TV. PRO-LINE is a gov't lottery here in Ontario/Canada. So you pick high odds, unlikely combos for big pay-offs.....
My favorite commercial of all time was one that Stan Freberg did for the pitted prunes campaign back in the late 60's/early 70's. It's the one that features science fiction writer Ray Bradbury. I've never been able to find that one on the web.
I saw that one on YouTube. The one I was looking for was the original.

"SUNSWEET MARCHES ON!"
FOUND IT! It's at #71.
No, that's the Ray Bradbury one again. What I'm (still) looking for is the original Sunsweet one - not the one with Ray Bradbury.
