I'm ordering the first edition of Attack of the Dead soon, but I'm debating on whether to release the game as a limited edition of 10, 25, or 50 copies. Convince me that you want zombies in your games and win an Attack of the Dead t shirt in the process.

All you have to do is thumb this list, then thumb the game entries you would like lottery tickets for:

If you like zombies, vote for the games that scream zombies to you.
If you don't like zombies, vote for Agricola.
If there is a game out now that doesn't have zombies but should, add it and thumb it.

I will let this run for about a week, and then I will randomly draw 10 ticket-holders from the entry with the most thumbs. You may thumb more than one entry but by god you better love zombies.

I will cover all shipping costs to wherever the winners are.

T shirts come in 2 flavors:
black skull on white tee (shown)
gray skull on black tee.
Mens & Womens Sizes S/M/L/XL

***Lottery Winner List -- the following BGGers are each awarded a LE Attack of the Dead tshirt!***

That's what I'm talkin' about! ZimP, right away! Long live the dead!

Every time I see this image of ZimP, it makes me long for the day that it actually gets distributed. The game exists, it really does.

Wakefield Carter, of Cambridge Games Factory wrote:
First off, Cambridge Games Factory would like to apologise for falling off the RADAR over the past year. Ed was working in Amsterdam and wasn’t able to dedicate time to CGF back in the States during that period. He is about to start a new assignment in Shanghai, so to prevent this situation continuing, Ed and Rob have asked me to join CGF as Commercial Director.

Cambridge Games Factory has always been run by gamers for gamers and I’ve very much of that mould - I’m a lifelong gamer / role-player, living in Oxford, UK. I was webmaster for 2000AD Online from 2001-2008, collect and sell comic artwork as the 2000AD Artwork Gallery and licensed Judge Dredd badges and other props as Termight Replicas. I role-play once a week and co-organise a bimonthly board games club. I am also Ed’s brother.

I’m now receiving emails sent to info@cambridgegames.com - you can also reach me by geekmail or wake.carter@cambridgegames.com .

Ok, so on with the show...

STATUS UPDATE:

Our priority right now is getting Glory to Rome and Zombie in my Pocket into shops as quickly as possible (we want to sell them as much as you want to buy them!). Unlike many games companies CGF prints / source game components as we need them from multiple suppliers and then assemble the games ourselves. We’ll be able to get you more exact dates shortly, but Zombie in my Pocket only needs additional rulebooks printed so will be back on the market in a few weeks while Glory to Rome needs playing card decks which take a few months to produce, especially as we weren’t happy with the company we used last time around and so are looking for a new printer.

Sadly, this doesn't actually appear to be a diplomacy retheme.

The description of this game does reads like World War Z: The Game or something though, which isn't bad by any means.

In my opinion, I think the diplomacy aspect comes into play when youre trying to figure out how to engage the zombies in relation to the other players. You can work together at a common strategy, or you can push the zombies into the other players areas. Certainly it is light on the diplomacy aspect, but I can see its presence in the game.

I've thumbed this game because it should have Zombies in it! It's so tiresome always having to come up with enough food at the end of a season... wouldn't it be great if your zombie family could just attack the other guys' workers and eat their brains!?

My favorite non-zombie zombie game. It's so fun.

(By non-zombie, I mean that it isn't a traditional zombie-experience-steeped game. It is a negotiation game with a zombie's tattered, grave-worn clothes draped over it.)

I'd like to see a "Zombie outbreak" card for TS.

Have it worth, say, 3 op points, playable by either side and has the text of a one-off event to the effect of:

"Play in any country with infulence from both the US & USSR.

Each side loses three infulence in this country.

When playing this card you may elect to send aid to the zombie affected contry.

Add two mil ops and roll:

1-4 No effect
5-6 Add two infulence

If you opponent has the UN intervention card or a card worth 3 op points they may discard it immediatly to cancel all effects of this card

This card does no affect DEFCON status"

If I had the first clue about photoshop I'd make a card of this event.

It's just another event for the superpowers to deal with.

Yes, there may be a zombie plague in Italy, but is that really more important than combatting Communist infulences in the Middle East?

kiss zombie kiss zombie kiss Cute little zombies racing around the graveyard. OK, may not quite match the theme you were going for.

A friend and I playtested this at GenCon some years back. Its design is so horrible it's funny. At one point the pieces stopped moving after we wound them up, then somebody slammed their fist down on the table in frustration... and the pieces moved forward. The game designer scolded us, saying we cheated. I can't believe they continue to offer copies for sale.

I actually like this one, though I’ll admit it’s not something to play all the time and it’s best as an end-of-the-night game when everybody is tired and/or just in the mood for something silly.

The pieces in our set work fine, though they don’t all work exactly the same. One of mine pulls slightly to the left, one doesn’t go as far as the others. I don’t mind this in this game, it’s part of the fun. We also encourage behavior like hitting the table and what-not, as long as you don’t directly interfere with a piece’s movement – calling that cheating seems to go completely against the spirit of this type of game…

The silliness absolutely makes this game! No it isn't "serious" or "hardcore" wargaming, but apparently there's a 3 year old lurking in all of us because folks love it.

Ok, I'll add one of my own designs.
An epic co-operative adventure-game that has zombies as one of the prominent creatures.

In all honesty, If I had to start over, I would pick another creature since putting zombies in you game often creates a string of presumptions from gamers who relate zombies with lighter beer & pretzel type games.
DDD is actually a middleweight/heavyweight game in the FFG tradition, but I can not longer count the times people ask me: "Is it anything like Zombies!!!"?
No, it's not. Just to make sure

Wow! I'd not heard of this one! Looks beautiful (in a zombie kind of way).

And the zombie games definitely need a few games with a little more meat to them. shake

I certainly hope somebody publishes this one soon.

Sadly enough no pre-order as of yet.
It is currently being evaluated by a publisher.
It's a hard sell because of several reasons:

- it is not your average zombie-game. In fact, I would go as far as to say it is an a-typical zombie game. It's a long (3 hours) involving game.
It's full of intense action and cinematic moments, but it has a rulesbooklet of 25 pages (very visual but still...it's a far cry from
LNOE).

- Many publishers feel there is an over-saturation of the genre.
I have had 2-3 rejects because they told me there are already enough zombie games on the market, without even giving it a try or reading the rules.
Quite frustrating for you as the designer and rather ironic since there are 56786 games about medieval villages with an auction mechanic and I never heared publishers complaining about that.

- It is a game with ALOT of components and it beggs for minis.
This forms a risky endaveour for a publisher given the high production cost.

In any case I'll keep you all up to date through BGG on the DDD listing if there is any more news.

This is one game that I would be glad to contribute to, along with other Geeks, to get published- or how about starting a P500 for this? If you could get enough commitments, perhaps that would help you with a publisher.

IIt's certainly something worth to consider.
I will keep it as a plan B if the deal with the publisher is not going through.

I agree with the many times this has been listed:

Start P500 for this! I would be on the list! really enjoy the look of this game and cannot wait to see it.

If possible, I know I'd also be interested in buying without minis if you did a small print run to "get it out there." The board pieces and the art work are amazing! I have tons of minis to use, besides there are lots of "bags o'zombies" to be had if need be...

Great work David, can't wait to SEE it, PLAY it, and OWN IT!

Except milkshakes.

Bacon flavoured milkshakes would not rock my world.

Zombies in my milkshake (ZIMM) would make my pocket jealous.

How about a Bacon Martini?

Yum!
