I consider myself a post video gamer. I used to play hours and hours of video games for entertainment but it was mostly a solitary activity. When I discovered board games I found that the social aspect was so much more rewarding. So now great board games have been coming out in digital form that can be played on the table in a similar way.
My son and I have played Zooloretto on iPhone and scaled up on the iPad many more times than the physical copy of Zooloretto. With setup and break down time reduced to nothing and scores instantly tallied we can play three games in the same time as one of the physical game. Also, with the price coming in at 5 dollars or less (after you spend hundreds on the unit, granted) you feel like you really get a lot of value out of it.
Lately there has been a string of announcements of some great games making their way to the digital medium. Here's a list of a few. Please add any news about up and coming games you run across, bonus points for source links.

I think only the OP can choose how a Geeklist is ordered.
Also, make sure you check out the other lists he links for games that are already out on the various devices.

I really hope to see some of the Titles added in later, because title recall is my favorite, but we've memorized just about everything in that set. Still, it was cool to see Inventions, which I had never seen before. So I'm assuming it's new.
Unfortunately, it's NOT available as a native iPad app from what I can tell. It has the normal 2x option available. That's a little lame, especially considering the price compared to other iphone/ipod games. Up to $10 for all of the questions. Not that it's necessarily outrageous, if you are a fan. But it seems pretty barebones, especially when it doesn't even have a nice iPad UI.
And Tikal as well!
