Inspired by the camcorder creations of Scott Nicholson and Tom Vasel (Wow! Tom produces videos almost as quickly as he produces offspring!), I present:

Board Game Overviews (BGOs)

BGOs will focus (at least, initially) on some of those not-so-new games. This will help avoid some duplication of effort since Scott and Tom handle the newer games. The purpose of a BGO is to introduce you to a game's components and to give you an idea of how the game flows. As I produce new BGO videos, I will add them to this geeklist. If you want immediate notification of a new video morsel, you can always subscribe to my YouTube channel:

http://youtube.com/gkend

Please share your constructive criticism and any BGO requests. Thanks!

(For the technically curious, I use a Canon FS20 with a wired lapel mic and process the videos in Apple's iMovie. The background music typically comes from http://jamendo.com, a Creative Commons music site.)

Hey! That's My Fish! This is a quick, tile-collection game for 2-4 players. It can be played fast and brainless or slow and strategic. Good gateway game and a good filler between longer games.

Citadels. In the card game Citadels, you and up to six other players use the powers of various character cards to disrupt your opponents, acquire gold, and build districts in your cities. The first to build eight districts wins.

Santiago is an auction/negotiation game for 3-5 players. Players seek to build majorities in plantations to score the most points at the end of the game, but they also must bribe the canal overseer to ensure that they're crops are adequately watered. If not, their fields will dry up.
