Would you be able to make something similar for the new cardstock maps and a sheet of plexiglass? In addition, a cover for the entire board so that other games could be played 'on top' of the current ASL-in-progress would be stellar!

You should put a few more notches in for corners to allow for a single map, double map, and deluxe map as well. Maybe include a dowel for each player to help them reach their chits...something with a suction cup to help pick them up? No so useful for stacks though. Maybe one of those screw grabbers they use to retrieve bolts dropped into your car engine...

Nice stuff.

I think the corners have magnets, so you can position them anywhere. That is a nice piece of work there though. Is there a way to put a sheet of plexi glass over the top of it and still fit inside the box shape?

Love the boxes on the side though, I can already tell where my FF and Prep fire counters would be going

[edit] upon rereading, they arent magnetic, but it does sound like they can be moved. Magnetic would be cool though.

Hello,
Actually there is a plexi-glass top that goes over the three boards, I just didn't get it in the photo. I could make a cover for the entire unit but boy would it be heavy. This is a 3/8" birch base with solid oak on all the top pieces. I also have some brackets that hold the plexi glass in place when you are not using it and it is stored against the wall.

Hello,
Only the cabinet sides have magnets so the lids can be closed and the pieces wont fall out. They are earth magnets, which are very strong!

You can't see them but I did drill two extra holes in the middle to allow for placement of different board configurations, such as one board in the middle. The corner pegs are dowels that fit in a hole.

Also, this will hold the hard mapboards or the paper mapboards!

Any ideas would be great so keep them coming!

Thanks everyone for looking!

I tried to post more pictures that show the boards verticle and horizontal but they only allowed me to show this one. If anyone wants more pictures just email me.

Heavy would be good. I was actually envisioning this as a gaming table that would 'attach' to my simple Ikea pine dining room table. Or put legs on it! (I wish I could afford to buy it...)

I love what I see. Thanks for sharing it! Brilliant!

How much for one of these? I'm more thinking of games like Conflict of Heroes, Arkham Horror, and the like. Hell, Tide of iron would be good too.

You can pm the price to me if advertising it is a nono here...

Hello all,

Since I am getting so many requests for these boards I thought I would just post the price and info...

You can configure up to three boards vertical or horizontal! Also, since you have an open playing field of about 27" high and 27" wide, you can play a lot of different games on it.

The board can be adapted to hang on the wall if so desired and the size of the entire board is about 36" wide by 28" high.

The compartments use earth magnets so they are very strong and there is zero clearance so none of the die counter would fall out if hung on the wall.

I am doing some slight modifications to the designs concerning the compartments so they are easier to open and so they only have to use 1 set of magnets instead of two. Also I am modifing the way the boards and plexi-glass are placed on the board so when you do hang it you can leave the boards in place and just hang it up!

I make these for $250, which includes the time, labor, and materials. You would need to give me a shipping address to calculate the shipping/handling costs.

The board weight is 15 lbs. with plexi glass in place.

Thanks to everyone for your interest, if you would like to have one custome made please email me at jpwoodworking2005@yahoo.com

Thanks again,

Joe
