Of course. All it took to solve the "debate" was a mute glove puppet! Fantastic stuff. The right message too.

Didn't realise that Sooty had made it across the pond.

Okay, this may not be the place to ask this but, since I appear to be out of the loop here, what is the difference bewteen Ameritrash and wargames or is there a difference? Thanks to anyone who wants (feels brave enoug?) to answer and please, do not throw anything in my direction, I have an eggshell skull.
Regards,
Tim
PS- Games should be fun!?!?!? "I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed!"- Patton cool

"Ameritrash" are usually sci-fi or fantasy, and are almost always multiplayer.

Tim, as I understand the distinction, a-tr games (I refuse to use the term) have lavish production qualitits, usually 3D plastic pieces in some capacity or other, simple (for a wargame) rules and short (for a wargame) playing time--2-3 hours instead of 6-100 hours. They are not always 100% war-based, but do have conflict as a significant element of play experience. They are not always history-based, but may have a S/F or Fantasy storyline if not a "historical" setting.

Wargames, on the other hand, are--well, you know. Map (board or sheet) or multiples thereof, counters, charts, detail, longer playing time, longer rules, an attempt to simulate history rather than just hang a historical theme on a set of game functions, etc.

Example of the former: Axis & Allies.

Example of the latter: Brandywine/Germantown.

How can this be a "solution" to the Ameritrash-Eurogame schism? This video is OBVIOUSLY an advertisement for Euros - I mean, come on, there's no machine guns, demons, blood-drenched swords, nuclear weapons, or ANYTHING cool - just some puppets and bocci ball...

As, from what I gathered, the standard edition seems to be a paper-only production, that´d only for the American version of Busen Memo, I take it...

No, no, no the game that Sooty and Sue are playing OBVIOUSLY isn't a Euro - it has an evil, randomising dice.

At least the board game they're playing isn't roll-and-move.

A post that (light heartedly) proposes we all just enjoy playing games and the Ameritrashers and Eurosnoots still can't stop taking potshots at each other. Irony thy name is Board Game Geek.

What exactly is "qualitits"? Does it have something to do with the female body? If so what ameritrash game has "qualitits", I need to buy it right now.

Exactly. The only way to solve this is people need to stop being divisive dicks.

edit: Also, is it just me or is the guy with his hand up Sooty's keister kind of hot?

Wow, that may be even more tasteless then the final solution.

No solution needed, let the schism grow. Difference is key.
