Beyond Monopoly!
United Kingdom
York

This Saturday will be the second June meeting of Beyond Monopoly!, York's friendliest boardgames club. We still need a metal cabinet with shelves and a lock. We will even pay cash money. Please help us out with finding one.

If you live near York, Leeds, Sheffield, basically anywhere north of London, then you have got to visit us at the Railway Institute in York! We are just a few metres from the station, so Leeds gamers can easily reach us. And Sheffield gamers. Everyone in the universe in fact. Hugo will give you a lift from Garforth.

We have now got over 250 games in our permanent collection, and regular visitors are allowed to borrow games between meets.

The club is open from 10AM-6PM and your first day is free! Normal prices are; £3 for adults, £2 students/unwaged/pensioners and £1 for children 8-12 yrs. Feel free to pop by anytime, you can come and go as you like. We don't throw you out at 6pm either.

The club is in the Railway Institute on Queen Street, York (a stone's throw from the railway station). Turns out that the RI does not bother if you use their car parking on the weekend. Turn up early (before 10am) and beat the ballet dancers to a parking spot.

There's an NCP car park at the rear of the RI, while the York Council parking on Nunnery Lane is a 5 minute walk. There are plenty of poles/railings etc. to chain bikes to, while plenty of buses stop at the station (including Park and Ride). We'll be in room 1 on the top floor. Directions for those still unsure: http://bmyork.pbwiki.com/Find%20The%20Railway%20Institute

The bar normally serves food until 1.30 and drink until 2.30, and there is no problem with bringing your own food. A water bottle is an excellent idea for the afternoon (there are taps it can be filled from).

So what are you waiting for? A warm welcome and a wide variety of modern, fast, fun boardgames (and some old favourites) are in store. See you on Saturday at Beyond Monopoly!
