Hi, I've just got the "ultimate" edition of DA:Origins which includes all the DLC. I've installed it all and some of it (Stone golumn) is fine because it integrates with the main quest, but I have a couple of questions about the rest.

1) You can create characters to play the DLC, but if you want to import ones from the main quest, what sort of level should they be? I don't want the DLC to be impossibly hard, but equally I like a bit of a challenge.

2) If you import a character from the main quest, can you back import them into the main game? or do you need to complete it first?

Thanks for any info,

Haven't played DLC in a bit, but I seem to recall that the non-integrated DLC has predetermined levels; for example Leliana's Song and Darkspawn Chronicles you can't import a character and start at a low level (as low as 1). It was difficult because I was used to playing my higher level character.

Which levels are OK I don't know but witch hunt continues the story from the base game so don't play it until you've completed it or you'll spoil yourself the ending. Also, Leliana's Song is a prequel but involves parts of her story that don't get revealed until you complete her mission so wait until then. Golems of Amgarrak continues the story of the dwarves so you should reserve it until you have recruited the dwarven army. Lastly, Darkspawn Chronicles is a "What if?" in which The Warden didn't survived the joining and goes through all the Blight so, even if it's a parallel storyline, it isn't spoiler safe.

For the final part of the DLC, "Witch Hunt", importing your character is possible (& probably worth while doing so depending on previous choices in the main game), but you can create a higher level one from scratch if you like as well, the actual add-on is very short.

I recently started playing through again as well.
If you have never played the game before I suggest you complete the main story then do all the DLC.
If you have done the main story then I would suggest:

Darkspawn Chronicles, (does not require import)
Leliana's Song (does not require import)
Main story
Golems of Alkazam (or however) (with main char import)
Witch Hunt (with import)
Awakenings (With import)

Both Witch and Awakenings are meant to be played after the main story line anyways.
