There are some pretty fun maps out there.
First of all, I've been playing a DOTA like game called Storm of the Imperial Sanctum or SOTIS. It's pretty nifty, although pretty much like DOTA.
Then there's Nexus Wars where you build structures that automatically generate units to fight using Starcraft stats.
Finally, the Phantom is a great hidden traitor game that does a decent job at create psychological paranoia.
