I have been laying a bit low in this thread, but thank you all for your comments!
I'm still actively gaming (haven't gotten around to rating things yet, but you can see what I play as I semi-obsessively log plays).
I've found a favorite local game shop (I'm Board) and am there every Thursday, and helping with a TI3 all day thing on Oct 29th. I've been egging people on in Reddit and the Meetup group to come out there.
Other than that - settling in, reading books (love the Middleton Library), and jobhunting. Donating blood as I have more time than money.

Heh. I start Monday for a month of training at a company that provides captioning and voice support for deaf and hearing impaired people using a phone system.
I'll be 'revoicing' where I repeat a word or two after a speaker is talking everything they say in a clear even voice, so a computer can grab the words and transform them into text. I'll also be fixing the text real time for conversations, and adding in swear words (heh). It's part of a Federally mandated system, so I can't 'exist' I'm just a meaty part of the hardware.
It's a fairly flexible schedule after the training - which is going to be nights. I actually negotiated one day a week for days (giving myself a swing shift!) so I can still make the Thursday night board game group we've started. Won't know my permanent schedule for a week or more...
It's another casual attire job (yay!) and I can read between calls, but as I'm getting hired in the holiday season, I expect it's going to be fairly busy for a bit.

I still have the postcard you put in with my missing Assassin figure from Talisman.
Good luck and best wishes for all your future endeavours.

Good luck, Thaadd!

You've done an outstanding job back then, and the microbadge clearly shows there was more to it than just "doing your job".
Have you thought about getting a new job somewhere in the gaming industry in the future?

Eh, not for the moment. I'm in a city with a single video game company, and I don't expect I will be moving for a while. Opportunities to remotely work are pretty slim.
Mostly right now I'm going to try to keep growing the board game evenings and try to work through Shiny (the boyfriend) and I's spreadsheet-o-boardgames. After TI3 with all the expansions last night, we have 101 left to play through 'at least once' together.

It was a pleasure to have you help me with my barious requests over the years. It has been a pleasure and you certainly represented the company in the best possible way. I'm sure they miss you terribly.
The new crew is doing a good job. You trained them well. Good luck with your future endeavors. This must be an exciting time for you.
Yes, I'm late to the party...so what

I'm soooooooooooooooo late for this thread but it is awesome to see that your moving on was a positive thing!
I just found out today when they responded to me using your old email address.
And it appears that you have quite the game collection as well!
Madison is a really cool town. I bought Jamaican Beef Patties off some vendor in the street there a few years ago!

Holy Crap!
I'm late too! (But as I am Jamaican by marriage, I am well with my rights to be so!)
Just wanted to say "thanks, Thaadd!" for all the great work you did (and to apologize about bitching waaaayyy too much about my Battle of Westeros pieces)
You were always awesome to correspond with and I wish you all the best!

Yep! I just started this week at ACD, a game distribution company that happens to be in Madison, WI. I'm busy in the 'LEARNING' phase right now, but soon I'll start contacting retailers to see if they would like to order games through us!
It's funny, because I thought I had a lot of product codes to know at FFG, but now I have nearly every game in print, as well as card game supplies, weird little toys, and tons of miniatures. It's great to be back among geeks

THAADD!!! Sorry I'm late coming to this party, I only just found out. Will miss you *immensely* and truly hope your replacements follow your stellar example of customer service. Your customer service was one of the reasons FFG was my favorite gaming company. Let's hope it continues.
Hope things go well, that bloke of yours better be worth it!

So far replacements have not been great. Long delays and slightly rude e-mail replies. So unlike the way it used to be.

Damn...my microbadges are rendered moot!!
In all seriousness...Thaadd helped me with replacement parts for a bunch of my FFG games that had missing or damaged parts.
She will be missed! Tim P.S. I am keeping my microbadges!
