The first time I played this game I was at my parent’s house. My younger brother had gotten the game and now everyone was playing it. I was reluctant at first but I love zombies so I gave it a try. Hours later I get up from the computer and remembered that I have I was supposed to see my girlfriend two hours ago.
Plants vs. Zombies is a basic tower defense game. You have a yard to defend and the zombies try to get across it to eat your brains. To stop them you have a variety of plants you can use to defend your yard.
Zombies: The zombies are pretty cool. The art is a little childish, but the theme is a little on the ridiculousness side anyways so get over it. The best part about the zombies is the all the odd types there are. Zombies on dolphins, construction zombies, football zombies. All the fun, different, and odd types makes the game even more enjoyable.
Plants: There are 40 different kinds of plants the players can use. Each one has a unique ability that can be used to fight the zombies off. Most of the cards are won through playing the game, but a few of the most advanced card have to be purchased from the game store. Before each round the player gets to pick which plants he will use this time. To make the game more difficult there is a limited number of slots meaning you can only take so many plants in to the fight.
Yards: Throughout the game the player will have to defend different kinds of yards from the zombies. The first is the front yard. Then the Back yard, which adds water to the field, also both of them at night as well. Finally the player must stop the zombies on the roof.
Side Games: Besides the normal game there is also a group of small arcade games that you can play. These are just as fun as the normal game. To be able to play them you have to play the normal game first. These side games were the real reason I played this game at first.
Replay: Both the main adventure and the side games have a lot of replay value to them. When you play the main adventure again the computer picks the first three cards for you. The cards are locked and you must use them. This adds a little more of a challenge to the game for the second time through.
Over all this is one for the most enjoyable, and addictive, games I have ever played. Everything about it keeps on being fun. I have played through the whole game two times and I still go back for more. I'm replaying it right now.
I would give it it gets a half star because I hope the next one will be even better.
