Poll
The rules come with three "officially sanctioned" variants. What are your thoughts on these variants for Inca Empire?
Yes I play it as the default! Its worth trying after you've got some plays in Sounds interesting but I haven't played Not interested in trying it out I've tried it and its I'd never play it again
Pizarro's Arrival (Variable End)
The God's Agree (Specific Placement of 3-Labor Tokens)
Early Downfall (Shorter 4P game)

Of course comments and discussion would be awesome also, but at the least I thought a poll would be nice to see what other folks thinks of these variants in the book.

Re: Pizarro's Arrival and The Gods Agree do you play with either (would you recommend either to play for a 1st time play)
We've played with variable ending from the beginning. I think it makes the game more interesting since you can't fully rely on a plan.

Cool...of personal interest is whether any of them would be good for introducing the game to my group. After playing against myself a few times I think I have the rules right, now its just about setting it up so my buddies get a kick out of it.

One issue with my group is that we have some AP prone players and I wonder if the Pizarro ending might perversely make the AP even worse!

I think it reduces AP.

As far as new players are concerned:

The Pizarro's Arrival variant is the original version of the game and is purely a personal taste thing.

The God's Agree variant is specifically designed to give new players a relatively equal first turn.

Early Downfall is intended as a way to introduce the game in a shorter time frame. Experienced players will tell you that it does unbalance the game a bit.

These observations are, of course, from a bit of a biased point of view.
