I've played this game an insane amount, sometimes staying up excessively late (and sabotaging my next morning) in order to do so. I regularly play on Deity, finding all of the other levels too easy to beat, but Deity a challenge. It's a great game, just fantastic, and I'm so glad to have it.
I'm starting to sense a pattern, though, and I'm wondering if it's just the way I play, or if it's the way the game is set up.
Usually I get behind in tech early I have about 5 to the AI's 8-10 techs. I'm able to keep my cities pretty secure, and grow/explore. As I move towards Invention/Steam Power/Metallurgy/Combustion, I get ready to pour myself into building Tanks. Once I get some tank armies, I start rolling over my opponents (usually with Cruiser fleets, or Battleship fleets for support).
I'm usually able to get the Domination victory this way.
How does this compare to others?

Now, this doesn't happen all the time, sometimes I get killed pretty early, or I get the Cultural victory. I don't think I've ever won via landing on Alpha Cent, and I've only won an Economic victory a couple times.
