Any PC Gamers with Xbox controller? | The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Hi all,

Picked this up on the Steam sale and have about 6 hours into it so far. Great game. First of the Elder Scrolls games I've played although I've known about them for a long time.

Anyways, loving the Xbox controller for the PC. Works great and very smooth. Any other controller users on the PC and any tips? I know you can have favorites but is there a way to assign things to a quick button without opening favorites?

I think this is only possible with mouse&keyboard, though possibly you could use the numbers on your keyboard even while using the Xbox-controller. Haven't tried that myself though. I started playing the game with a controller, but turned back to mouse&keyboard since looking around is much more of a hassle to me with the controller. Mouse is just easier, quicker and more accurate (to me).

Unfortunately not. Skyrim is one or the other, but not both. If you are using an Xbox controller, the keyboard and mouse are useless. The only way to use them as input devices is either to disconnect the controller to disable the controller via the options menu.

It's why I am exclusively a mouse+keyboard user in Skyrim. Otherwise I would have the controller on hand for some of the oh-so-PC-unfriendly menus.
