On behalf of everyone at VideoGameGeek, and the whole family of geek sites, I am ecstatic to be able to announce that we have reached a significant milestone...
20,000 video games in the database!!
We would like to thank everyone who helped us get to this point and as a small token of our appreciation, we are handing out a special microbadge to everyone here. All you have to do is post to this thread and we will award you the following beautiful badge:
: I was there for video game number 20,000!
This offer will be open for about two weeks. And we hope you will all help us reach our ambitious goal for 2012 to reach 30,000 games in the database before the end of the year!

Congrats Andrew. Well done!
I am glad we were able to reach the goal. My hat's off to all of the admins and especially Ziilch who was right there with me for most of the day.
You all make this site happen!

Thanks, everyone. I'm very proud that I could be the lucky one who submitted the 20,000th game but we all really had a hand in it. I feel a little bad for edging out Troy (130 games!), but then he does have the Eye of the Gods for consolation. Thanks admins, your patient corrections and encouragement made this possible.

Troy can expect a picture of all of the admins crammed in a dirty bathtub, eating ramen and crying.
Actually, Troy will be getting something nice from us, but I do like the idea of running a prize suggestion thread.

Only a few short months ago I had barely visited VGG, spending most of my time on the venerable BGG domain. Now I can barely imagine life without it. I'm really glad to see the database continue to grow in leaps and bounds. VGG is the best!

Yep that was 12 Power Grid maps back to back over two days. Worth doing, but possibly not in such a concentrated burst.
Ooh yes, now a little to the left - my nose is itchy. No, no the other left! Now what colour is 12 supporter badge going to be I wonder?

Excellent work everyone.
And good to see MOO II is still top 20 of 20,000 (just).

Congratulations Video Game Geek. Thanks for being a great database for video games, just as BoardGameGeek and RPGGeek have been for board games and role-playing games.
I'm glad I was here for this occasion, and hopefully I'll have time to add some games of my own soon, as well.
