Description Edit | History

User Summary:
This is the game that introduced Link, Zelda, Hyrule, and Ganon. The adventure begins with Link setting out on a quest to rescue Princess Zelda from the evil clutches of Ganon. Along the way, Link must grow in strength by acquiring more lifeforce (heart), more equipment (tools), some armor, gems (money), and more specialized weapons. The game consists of a top-down view of the map with nearly every screen offering exits on all four sides of the screen. You explore the map through forests, mountains, graveyards, and other fantasy settings in search of dungeons where Ganon and his minions await. The dungeons are more confined and involve more problem-solving to explore and navigate.

Not only has Ganon captured Princess Zelda, but he has also the Triforce of Power. The Triforce of Wisdom has been broken into 8 pieces, and Link must acquire these before he can challenge Ganon and save Hyrule. Once you completed the epic quest, the game allowed a second play-through with all of the locations and dungeons in a new configuration.
