Aeria Games, based in Santa Clara, California, is an online games publisher. Aeria Games & Entertainment Inc. (AGE), a subsidiary of Aeria Inc. (www.aeria.jp) in Japan, is developing an Internet gaming portal for MMORPGs in the U.S. It focuses on massively multiplayer online role-playing games, licensing games from (primarily Asian) developers for a North American audience. Aeria Games has announced that its European subsidiary, Aeria Games GmbH, is located in Berlin, Germany. It has recently forayed into the European market with the launch of German and French versions of Shaiya, Shin Megami Tensei, Grand Fantasia as well as the addition of a European Last Chaos server in January 2009. Its games are ostensibly "free to play" but use a micropayment system to generate revenue (in game item malls and advertising).
