Alternative Software was a UK based software publisher, founded in 1986 by former Alligata employee Dave Palmer. They published games during the late 80s and onwards, for Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Commodore Amiga, and Atari ST.

Whether this company has something to do with the current UK company carrying the same name has yet to be verified.
