Gateway

Gateway is the Labor Day gaming convention in Los Angeles hosted annually in September by the Strategicon organization. Attendance over the past 25+ years has been over 1000 gamers playing over 400 RPGs, CCGs, board games, miniatures, LARPS and many other events across the 4 day weekend of fun. Dealers are also on site selling the latest in games and game accessories.

When: 12 noon, Friday, September 4, 2009 to 6 pm, Sunday, September 7.

2009 Highlights

• Rio Grande Games is sponsoring a game design contest; at Gateway, 15 designers will enter to compete nationally for the privilege of having their game published.

• Three tournaments -- Acquire, Dominion, and The Settlers of Catan -- offer $100 first prizes in dealer dollars, good for buying games from on-site dealers.

• Four Magic: The Gathering tourneys will each award the winner a brand new booster box first.

• Miniatures Boot Camp will teach the ins and outs of miniatures games.

• D&D aficionados can earn points, gold and magic items for their character in the RPGA, Living Forgotten Realms.

$50 all four days ($40 pre-register online thru Aug. 31, $5 discount for selected gaming groups)
