Designers
|
The above controls would allow for a maximum of 6 designers to be added for a game. The first three allow you to use a button to open a dialog box to search the database for a designer who is already lisited in the database. Please try to look the name up, and don't type in a name with some alternate spelling. (No need to have John Henry, John Francis Henry, John F. Henry, and J. F. Henry in the database all for the same designer. Someone else will just have to clean up after the elephant.) After the lookup, the ID # for the designer will be in the associated left field, and the designer's name in the right. The image below shows the designer selection list with A. Becker chosen.
The last three fields allow you to enter new designer names, if the designer isn't in the database.

Publishers

Categories
|
The categories are boolean flags. Either a category applies or it doesn't. The image shows the category flags set to note that the game is an Abstract Strategy game and it is not a Civil War game.
There is too long a list of categories to be included here. More importantly, there is no aboslute authority, like IUPAC which controls the names of the chemical elements, on how to define a category. Pick whichever ones you feel that are appropiate.
|
Mechanics
|
The mechanics are boolean flags. Either a mechanic applies or it doesn't. The image shows the mechanic flags set to note that the game does use Acting and it does not use Area Enclosure.

I didn't want to hijack it with all my spin controls. Thinking of just copying page into this one.
