Ideal Hi-Q collection

A series of abstract games from Ideal mainly targeted at "smart" children.

  • Hi-Q (solitaire peg game - see Double Hi-Q for a version for 1-2 players)
  • 1981 Gridlock (Outside the Scope of BGG)
  • 1982 Break Away
  • 1984 Give & Take
  • Hexed (Outside the Scope of BGG - puzzle)
  • Kwazy Quilt (Outside the Scope of BGG - puzzle)
  • Pythagoras (Outisde the Scope of BGG - Tangrams)
  • Take 5 (presumably different from the other two games with the same name on BGG?)
Gridlock
Break Away
Give & Take
Krazy Quilt
Hexed

Speculation

Gabriel also had Hi-Q games published with a "Hi-Q" in the same color scheme, and very similar font face. Also, a game called Take 5 was published by Gabriel with a slightly different "Hi-Q" logo.
Did one company buy the other? Was there some sort of agreement for both companies to have Hi-Q games? Was there some copyright infringement?

Here are some of Gabriel's Hi-Q games:

Take 5
Catch 21
Point-Blank
Over-n-Out
Break Away

Clues

All the Gabriel Hi-Q games listed above were published before the Ideal Hi-Q games, except possibly for Break Away.
Here are two different printings of Break Away:

Gabriel
Ideal

...so perhaps Hi-Q went from Gabriel to Ideal, through whatever transformation or transfer of ownership!
