ROBA

Formed in 2005, ROBA (also known as the Rochester/Oakland Boardgamers Association) is dedicated to bringing people in the Oakland County (Michigan) and surrounding areas together on a monthly basis for the pleasure of playing board games.

ROBA meets on the last Saturday of every month from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m.

ROBA is also dedicated to advancing the hobby of board gaming by introducing those that attend the meetings to new board games, as well as board gaming resources that are available. Above all, we exist so that board gamers can have a place to come, meet new people, and have a good time playing board games.

The types of games that you will find at ROBA meetings include a wide variety of board and non-collectible card games. While the majority of games played at ROBA events tend to be European-style games, there is also room for board war games (i.e., War of the Ring, Axis Allies, etc.), or traditional board games (RISK, Monopoly, etc.).

Regardless of your favorite board game, ROBA exists to provide a safe and clean environment so that people of all ages can enjoy the hobby of board gaming and enjoy interaction with other people with similar interests.

It's FREE to attend a ROBA meeting - just bring your games and your friends.

Our monthly events are held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Rochester Hills, Mich. The address is 3980 Walton Boulevard, Rochester Hills, MI 48309.

ROBA's web site and email discussion list are located at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/ROBA/.
