Universal Fighting System 
Universal Fighting System (UFS) is a collectible card game from Fantasy Flight Games. Players take on the persona of legendary characters from classic video gaming titles to participate in one-on-one combat for supremacy.
As in Magic: The Gathering, players build a deck of cards and duel against an opponent's deck. The first player to reduce his opponent to 0 vitality (or meet another set win condition) wins the game.
The game has been launched officially in April 2006 by Sabertooth Games, but the first product, Penny Arcade battle box, has been released a month earlier. On February 22nd 2008 the publication rights have been transferred to Fantasy Flight Games.
Products
Cards are released in sets, that belong to one of the gaming universes (with the notable exception of SNK Playmore, that encompasses two gaming universes from that company). Cards are sold as semi-random 60-card starter decks, and 10-card booster packs (although not all sets come with starter decks). Penny Arcade, the first set to be released, came only as a battle box containing two non-random 60-card decks.
