VGG User Guide: Supporting VGG

Table of Contents

Providing a great site for the VGG community unfortunately requires real world expenses for developers, servers, storage, and bandwidth. While advertising revenue covers a portion of this, most is contributed by users like you.

Patrons

You can choose to become a patron of VGG by visiting http://videogame.geekdo.com/support.
Patrons who donate at least $15 receive a supporter badge for the current year.
Patrons who donate at least $25 receive Premium Benefits.

Premium Benefits

Premium Benefits are small features intended to serve as a thank you to the site's patrons. Users should never feel obligated to become a patron, and the main functionality of the site is free to all users.

Premium Benefits are available on an annual basis for patrons who donate at least $25, or can be purchased with GeekGold at a rate of 1 GG per day, or 20 GG per month, via the Preferences section of your profile.

Current premium benefits include Ad Block, the ability to view previously read subscription items, and personal RSS feeds.

Ad Block

Ad Block allows a user to configure which, if any, advertisements they wish to see on the site. Once purchased, ad block can be configured via the account option under My Geek or the Preferences section of your profile.

The Edit Ad Block page specifies various types of ads that appear on the site, which you can choose to block by selecting the appropriate check boxes.
