As some of you may know, our fellow geek John Daniels (Redneon) passed away from Bile Duct cancer on 03/20/09 at 2am. Here’s a link to the thread which he started in 12/04/2008 to chronicle his journey.

This page is intended to memorialize John, and to usher him into the halls of GEEK VAHALLA, where he takes his rightful place at the table with other great geek heroes. In GEEK VALHALLA, men such as John play the games of their choice all day long, and recount their victories and accomplishments on earth.

This is for you, John Daniels "Redneon" . May mortal men look upon your deeds and tremble!

There is an empty chair,
at the table this day.
A hallowed place where,
a friend once played.
The roll of his dice,
my ears long to hear.

if he should suddenly appear.
With an errata sheet in hand,
and a bag of Cheetos to share.
All his friends would stand,
as he sat in the empty chair.
I hear his voice a-callin’,
and it ties my heart in a knot.
For he cries, "Though a comrade has fallen,
You must play for those who cannot".
We conquered worlds on the run,
he and I in the name of fun.
And as others may come and go,
I make both both friend and foe.
But what I long for most,
is our past now long a ghost.
