I occasionally write reviews for games.
I have been frustrated by the lack of response I've gotten for my reviews. I spend a lot of time and effort on them, but I rarely get more than 2GG for a review or 10 thumbs. I could be because I review less popular games. But I see no reason to write something in a review thats already been said. But I also realize that my writing skills are a little weak.
My goal is to create a place for people to proof-read reviews before they are posted to BGG. People will post recommendations to improve how the reviews are written. Suggestions will be strictly limited to improving the grammar, spelling and formatting of a review. Help providing illustrations and pictures for a review would be permissible. General discussion of techniques would also be fine.
Insults or any discussion not related to writing reviews will be inappropriate.
On the subject of discussing content. I want to avoid discussions about the specific game here. If the review says game X is horrible, I don't want a fan of game X to try and convince the reviewer that game X is great. I also want to avoid unrelated discussion. Now if someone suggests a picture would be good or wants to help the reviewer make a point, thats fine. Making a review better is the reason for this guild and if a discussion of content for that purpose accomplishes that, then I have no problem with that.
