User Summary
Spitfire 40 is a flight simulation set in WWII. As a young Spitfire pilot, you must fight German fighters during the battle of Britain. Successful missions earn you promotion and medals.
The game has 3 modes, Practice, Combat practice and Combat. In Combat mode, a briefing gives the player the number of enemies, their bearing and altitude and it's up to the player to take off, intercept the enemy and land safely on a R.A.F. base. The player's character can be saved to disk after each successful mission or training session.
The game was praised at its released for its simulation of flight dynamics. It was developed in collaboration with the Battle of Britain museum of Hendon, UK.
